Changes oh my!
Good pm all! Well, is it not one of the most gorgeous days here in RVA? Took the buggas to the park and had some great times.
Changes oh my! I learned earlier this past week that my surgeon Dr. Amy Elizabeth Martin is resigning from her practice here in RVA @ St. Mary's effective April 15th. She's moving with her family and I for one will greatly miss her. I am to see her this Wed and it will truly be touching in many ways. It will be hard to say goodbye honestly as she has been there since BEFORE I had my WLS and has truly been what I consider a partner for life. She is so much more than just a surgeon. She has saved my life LITERALLY! She's so much different than any other doctor I've come across as she has a bedside manner unlike anyone before her. She takes her time to make sure things are going smoothly for us pre-op and post-op even more so and it's that way whether you are a few weeks out or a few years out. I am now in the process of pursuing reconstructive surgery and I was hoping to have accomplished it so that she could see my results as well but in time I suppose. I am on the search for another surgeon now to continue my follow ups. Although I am 4 years post-op I firmly believe in sticking with my follow ups and blood work and since this is a lifestyle change for the better I want to make sure I'm doing all the right things to continue ensuring my success. I hope to express to her on Wed just how much of an impact she's made on me and others because she's a rare gem and a very special lady.
Hope ya'll are having a good weekend!
Hugs, Kat
