SUMMER EVENT QUESTION.....

Maybe it's just a coincidence, BUT I have gotten SEVEN questions in the past three days about a summer event! As I consider this, here are my thoughts: Something VERY casual and MUCH less organized than the winter conferences (for that matter, much les organized than the 2006 "Boogie & Splash!" summer event too) A simple gathering of friends with a pool party? Day trip to King's Dominion? Virginia Beach (2 hrs away...) Maybe an organized "dine-around Richmond" night where we'd have several cool restaurants with reservations at each, and people would "sign-up" in advance to go to different places, all meeting up afterwards to dance at a club... The less formal and planned - the more cost effective I can make it for everyone as well... I am open to all ideas and suggestions. I almost had "design-a-conference" brochures in January - but never go to it... OH! - I does have to be here in Richmond!!! And Roxxi can vouch for how lovely our summers are After I hear back from you all, I will take the best suggestions and roll them into something...I promise. ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN...There WILL be a 2008 Winter Conference again in January at Holiday Inn Central. Dates & theme will be announced soon... Put on your thinking caps and take a week or so to discuss...I will try and gather your thoughts into one fab summer get-away weekend by the first week of April!! Thanks friends David

Id say a simple gathering an pool party like last summer and the simple breakfast kind of ralley w/ a few venders or even chats. I dont do the bar schene as others dont as well that were wanting to attend. So if tou do that there should be an alternative for us. Or the Kings Dominion sounds fun and a breakfast thing on Sunday. There are a few my way who havent been to your events and so they to were curious as to what would be going on. Less expensive is good. But Im sure you will come up w/ something great..... Look forward to hearing.

David, Last year's Boogie and Splash was fun so I vote for an all day pool party and evening BBQ. I already have Season tickets for Kings Dominion so I would be less interested in that. The fun is in the get together not really what we do. There is also a picnic at some park or outdoor place - what also about somethung like roller skating or ice skating park with lessons for those who need them ?- or a trip to a major gym for a huge workout together? Or a bowling competition? Or even a paintball game etc I akm just throwing ideas out that might be fun..... or spur someone else's thought juices...... Jackie

A summer event, casual, sounds great. A pool party & bbq are always fun. A picnic sounds great too. Less cost is always a great thing. Courtney

THIS is from TAMMY she emailed me: I HAVE A PLACE THAT WE CAN GO FOR ALMOST FREE (I WOULD HAVE TO CHECK ON THE PRICES) IN FREDERICKSBURG. IT IS A CAMPGROUND WITH TWO OUTDOOR POOLS, ONE INDOOR POOL, TWO LAKES, SOFTBALL, HORSHOES, ETC. LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT MORE INFO. WE CAN BRING GRILLS AND COOK OUT OR SOMETHING! TAMMY

David, I agree with the pool party. or maybe the camping thing. I love to camp and think that would be fun. maybe somewhere where there is cabins. for people who don't own a tent or don't want to sleep in a tent. I don't care for the theme park idea as people may get split up and the idea i thought of the conf. was for everyone to get together and hang. oh well just a few ideas from me. (why no summer conf. just curious?) take care, Holly
