My first post
Hi everyone.
I am more of a lurker than poster, only because I tend to go on and on and on when I do post. But I figured I might as well get my feet wet.
I had my lap band surgery on 2/27/07 at Fair oaks with Dr. Moazzez.
everything went great, no problems with the surgery, no problems at the hospital.
I was in a bit of pain and very glad for the morphine pump.
came home the 28th and slept alot, slept alot the next day too, and was just really sore, for the next day. By sunday I was feeling fine, ready to go back to work, and not really hungry at all, the liquids were enough.
I went back to work monday and by noon I was miserable, starving, so hungry and I couldn't get enough liquids in my body. I called Pam at Dr. M's office and she told me to go ahead and start puree. So I did and have been doing great since.
I've not gotten sick or thrown up, I love my protien shake, the only thing I am not happy with now is my calcium wafers, bleck, I need a new one, something smaller and less chalky.
anyways.
not sure what else to post
I am 36, 5 foot tall, BMI was 44, my starting weight was 236, current weight 211, and I think my goal is just to be healthy. I have high chol, diabetes, sleep apnea, hip and ankle pain.
BCBS Carefirst is my insurance and I've had no problems so far!
nice to meet you all.
Mary
Hey Mary,
Welcome. Wasn't Dr M the best? I had lapband surgery on 1/29/07. I just moved onto soft food. I ordered the calcium citrate from bariatric advantage, and I love them. Much better than those citracal chews i loaded up on. If you need anything, let us know. That's what the boards are for.

Hi Mary,
Welcome! I'm a long time lurker myself and have only this week begun actively posting. I've learned so much and hope you have as well. I'm behind you in the process, I have my 6 month appointment with my PCP tomorrow - my insurance had the "diet rule". So, I'm hoping that I've now completed everything the insurance company wants and can again submit for surgery approval.
Congratulations on your uncomplicated journey so far! I truly hope it continues to be a smooth ride for you. Much success and I'll be watching to see your great progress!
Nice to meet you,
Chele
Congratulations on surgery and coming out of hiding lol! The first posts are always the hardest and after that it is all easy !!
You are doing great! There is always trial and error on supplements until you get something you like..... I use Bariatric Advantage chewables but they are still chalky - but the flavors make them bearable - and I find I enjoy them now - it is a bit like eating a candy for me - I have chocolate, mint and cinnamon flavors.
Keep posting and letting us know how you are doing...
