Consult one year ago yesterday
In all fairness, I should count my weight loss from that date. One year ago, the surgeon's scale showed 399lbs. 399. Who weighs this much? I was devastated when I found out this news -- I thought maybe I was 340-350. That I could handle. 399 almost made me cry.
Yesterday, I weighed 222 (5lbs added for the difference between my scale and the surgeon's scale, mine says 217). Considering preop and postop losses combined, that makes a total of 177lbs lost. I'm frustrated at this point because I seem to have stopped, and for once in my life, I would love to see a weight that starts with a "1". I'm still hoping to acheive this on/before my anniversary on 4/18. But I tell people that I've lost 177lbs in a year and most are blown away. It helps to keep things in perspective
So to all those preop or new postop, it works. Keep up on the water, keep up on the protein, DEFINITELY keep up on the exercise. (this is where you can lose track quickly if you're not paying attention). Good luck to you all.

PS: I'm sorry to see that politics has caught up with OH and that you new people will not have the wisdom and advice of those who have been so helpful in the past.

Julie-
Congrats on your loss and continuing efforts! I'm sure that you can get to a "1" sooner rather than later.
I know that we're not supposed to let the scales rule us, but darn if those numbers don't have some bearing on how we feel about our journey!
It was great to see you last month...keep in touch!

Thanks, Christina!
That stupid scale! The further along I get, the harder it is to stay away from! That, and chocolate. Ugh. I did put on a pair of size 16 jeans the other day. I have never worn that size. I remember something about wearing a size 18 dress once -- I think I was 11 or 12.
It was good to see you, too. We need to have get togethers more often.
Julie

Thanks, Court!
I know the window hasn't closed yet, and for those of us with more to lose, it tends to stay open a little longer -- but that one year mark is closing in fast, and boy it is scary.
Anyhow...
Talk about doing fabulously.
You have done WONDERFULLY. I saw some recent pictures on your profile, and wow
you are stunning. Keep it up!
