Man oh man.... I am getting ready for surgery on Friday...a medial thighplasty and guess what? I am getting ready to get my period !!! Not just any period here.. I can tell it is going to be a crampy, heavy, lasting for over a week kind of period !!! I am sitting here fantasizing about chocolate and sugar to add insult to injury !!!!!!! BUT..to make it even worse is that if I am on my period Friday, I can't even wear a tampon on the OR table. Is that nasty or what? They told me not to worry about it, that there would be blood everywhere anyway !!! haha But, how humiliating !! The reasons for not being able to wear a tampon while in surgery is that.. 1. You might forget about it afterwards from all the sedation. 2. The fibers in the tampon could spark a fire. Well heck..I guess that brings an entire new meaning to fire crotch !!!!! Pray that it will be late for me. This will be one time in my life I won't be stressing a late period !!!!! Dana

Hi Dana, I just heard this on TV recently that women can take birth control pills all month and eliminate their period!! I don't know if it's too late for you for that, but it's a thought. Fortunately that is one problem that no longer haunts me!! Good luck and I'll be anxious to see the after pictures!! I wish I would have done that earlier in the month Donna. It is a little too late for me to start them now. My doctor said I would be a hormonal wreck starting them so late in the cycle. Yes, I will post the pictures as soon as I can. I am bad...I still haven't posted any from my lateral thighplasty and butt lift. Good luck on your consultation !! Dana

Fire crotch??? You are too funny! Although I understand your humilliation about the situation at hand,, but just think, it wont be the first time the medical team has seen it...They have seen it all. So dont worry, just think about the outcome of the surgery. God Bless!! Cathy

Ok, I just spewed my coffee! Hot Crotch , huh? LOL Hon, you'll be ok. Just make sure to tell them you will need a peri-pad after surgery and all will be ok. As for horrible periods. Been living with them for what seems a lifetime. So I buy those mini-chocolate bars to keep around. I get just enough to satisfy. If I don't see you tonight (I don't think I'm going ot be able to make it. Mom has chemo.) I wish you luck for Friday. You're my guinea pig because I'm having mine done in September. Hugs, Jane
