Lap Band on 01/29/07 with
Hey yall, Today is 4 weeks post op and I am quite pleased with myself. I had the most difficulty during the first 2 weeks, but then the next two weeks were easier. I see my doc this thursday to see what his scale says, but according to my scale, Im down 19 pounds since surgery, 25 pounds since Jan 22nd. I have not yet felt the difference in my pants, but totally in my tops. I know I have to be patient, because I did not gain all of this weight overnight. One thing that does bother me, is that Im extremely constipated. I will add more fiber into my diet, and will be going back to the gym this week. Im so excited to be on this journey, and now my hubby, who was so not supportive of me getting WLS (in the beginning), is now considering the lapband. Thanks so much for being motivational, inspirational, and for answering all my questions/concerns. The VA board is the best! ~Moni

Congrats, Moni! You're doing an amazing job, keep up the good work!!! I would definitely add more fiber, it should help. I was also told that once we had surgery, it would be more difficult to go #2 and that we wouldn't go near as often. It does get better. I drink a lot of diet green tea and that seems to help! Amber

Thanks Amber, I will get some of that diet green tea also. I will try anything if it could help me.

No problem, the best tasting one that I've found is the Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citrus or Mixed Berries.

Hi, Moni - like Amber said green tea works for me too, along with AchievOne protein. Between the two they seem to keep me straight! Glad you are doing so good!! Hugs Jill

I am beginning to research bariatric surgery options. I need help finding a good surgical group and am especially interested in the lap band. I'm not finding as many people who have this done but it seems like it is much less invasive. What do you think? I live in Richmond, VA in case anyone has suggestions for terrific surgeons. Thanks. HI Moni, Sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the good work. This is an amazing tool but you really have to work it. I too have a problem with constipation and I am a year out. Cashews, prunes and stool softeners help me but I am not sure they would be good for you this soon. Be sure to mention it to your surgeon. He might have some suggestions. The journey is wonderful. Enjoy it. Hugs, Betsy
