Hi all. I have not been here in a while. But I miss coming here and checking in. I can't tell you how helpful you all were in my first few months. I then went on to think I had everything under control and that all was fine as long as i was still losing...sound familiar? Yes, I'm the thick-headed kind. Now, I'm trodding and working through a plateau and the poignant realization that you really do have to work at this a little every day. Because we are all worth it. I did something tonight that floored me...I found pictures from before my WLS and I was STUNNED. So stunned, that I posted the pics. These pics actually made me feel dizzy. For just a moment, when I stared at them, I got that old feeling - that out-of-breath thing that used to happen when I would walk half a block. My WLS was last June> I am down 90 lbs. And yes, that IS great. But I haven't lost for a while and frankly, I know why. Because I haven't been REALLY dedicated to doing so. So I'm dusting myself off AGAIN, and starting over tomorrow. Just thought I'd say hello.
Hi Julia, I also had my surgery in June, I'm also down 90 pounds, and I'm also stuck. I've weighed the same thing +/- 2 pounds for nearly a month. It's driving me bonkers. I totally agree with you though,I'm not near as diligent as I was months ago. It's been so cold I haven't been walking, and I can eat a lot more food than I could. I'm not eating any of the wrong things, just too much of the right stuff. I'm going to the Charlottesville Support Group Meeting today so hopefully I can get charged up again.
I love my new life. I feel 100% better. I've acquired some sagging 'parts'
but it's worth it. I hope both of us can get back on track and start that steady descent to our goal. Good luck.
Jennifer
