Well today it is officially one year since I had my RNY surgery! I have lost 97lbs and made it to 160lbs. My weight loss is very slow now so I am doing gym work in the hopes of getting off of this plateau...... I wanted to lose 100lbs since surgery and only missed it by a couple of lbs........ but I WILL still lose it!! I am not giving in yet! I feel I have come a long way. I am no longer diabetic and have so much more energy that I had presurgery. I can remember coming to this group pre-surgery and I so wanted to be "one of you"! And now I am and can officially start writing to the Graduate Board too!!!! I want to thank you all for your support - you will never know how much you have all helped me - before surgery with advice and during this past year with even more advice and knowledge. It has been a really great ride for me with no complications at all. I feel really well and very happy. I hope I can continue to give something back to everyone in thanks. Thanks all once again Jackie

Jackie T., Congrads on your surgeversity and wieght loss. I have enjoyed and learned from your posts and am amazed at the support and freindship amongst the folks on the VA board, especially the ladies. You have been there for a lot of folks. I read your posts but seldom respond because you seem to do so well with topics and answer, it just doesn't leave much else other than "Ditto" or "I second that". Thanks for being such a good example and making stuff happen in your neck of the woods. Joe

Thank you Joe - that kind of post makes it all worthwhile!! I want to help others too because so many helped me. I read as much as I could pre-surgery so that I was prepared for everything that happened and did not get sidetracked or surprised and I attribute that to much of my success. I am always amazed that people do not research what is going to happen to their bodies. You have contributed a lot to these boards too Joe - I read your replies too and don't need to add anything either. And you are doing very well too!! Thank you! Jackie
