I called my insurance company today and they said they pay for "tummy tucks" with pre-approval if the surgeon can demonstrate medical necessity . At this point, my pannus hangs over my pubis, but I only get mild rashes. Do you think I will qualify? Loris

You may need pictures and documentation of any physician intervention for the rashes. I have been instructed to have my surgeries .. pay for them .. and then submitt the claim . I will have government insurance and have been told to do it this way . If they do not pay , there are several payment options out there to get this done . I will be paying cash for the majority of my work , but may need a little help from my long lost savings . Currently my total is up to 35 grand ... it can be expensive . Best wishes to you . Nat

You need photographic evidence before they will even consider it and evidence that you have had treatment from your doctor - a little "touch up" doesn't hurt either...it is amazing what a little blush and the wrong kind of lighting can do for you. I had a friend who used blush and cream under her pannus and got her tummy tuck paid for.... Jackie
