Okay I have been trying to decide for ages on what to do with my hair..... it is thin -not the surgery - always been thin - and dead straight. I have tried the long perms but they always ruin my hair when I have them redone. My hair is not in the best condition right now. I want to do sonmething with it but am afraid to have it cut as I really prefer it longer - but all I do with it now is mostly tie it back and I want to not have to do that all the time. I tried to see about hair extensions that Jane was looking at but I never get anyone calling me back so I presume they are either super busy or they really don't want to do them. Can anyone tell me where I should look at to see different styles for thin hair? Or recommend a hairdresser in the Fredericksburg area that could advise me? I just feel after losing almost 100lbs I could use a new sexier hairstyle!! Please help! Jackie

Hi Jackie I understand what your talking about my hair was kinda long had grew so long but after surgery it broke off was thin and I went to the sights online and went threw all of them picked 2 of them went to my hair dressed and said which one, and she picked the style I have now, my hair still falls out some but not like before and the new is finally growing out and getting a lil thicker try it and see what you find. Good luck!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Melinda - I will study those and se if they help. Your hair looks very thick though whereas mine has always been thin and fine - and a problem. For years I just kept it permed and curly but I grew tired of that too... Thanks for your help.... I appreciate the sites Jackie

Jackie- I know he's not in the Fredricksburg area but I absolutely LOVE my hairstylist. He's in Reston at Le Shoppe. His name is Dwight Grant. If you want more information you can look it up online (http://www.leshoppesalons.com) or give them a call at 703-435-5555. Christina S

Hey Jackie. You can google hair styles and see lots of websites with pictures. I don't like mine short either and used to pull it back all the time. The last time I got mine done, I got it layered. I asked for lots of long layers because I didn't want to lose the length. Mine is curly because I do perm it and have been perming it for 16 years but even with short hair, layers would add body to it and there is a way to cut it (blunt edge I think) that would add even more body to it. Good luck finding what you are looking for. Courtney

Much as I have fought against having layers I think I have no choice but to layer it to make it thicker.... your hair looks very very thick though Courtney and really nice! I would love to have such thick beautiful hair..... Jackie

I often browse through hairstyle magazines at th bookstore. If I find one I like, I buy the magazine and take it with me. I used to have long hair but when it got thin, I cut it off and I have to say, I kinda like having it short now. Takes me no time to style it now. Sorry you couldn't find anyone to do extensions. I still need to grown about 1 more inch in length before thye can do mine. Jane

Hi Jackie, I like the web site www.thehairstyler.com. I think it was $12 to join but you can put your specific hair type in the search. You can also upload your photo so you can see what that style will look like on you. Each hairstyle also gives you instructions on how to do your own hair. I always hated how the hairdresser gets it just so and when you go home and try,aargh...! Jen
