Now that I am on the road to better health , I am so pleased to be able to start my personal training this week . Tommorow I start with my weight trainer at Fitness First . I will be training in order to get ready for my plastic surgery this year . As most of you know who have met and seen me .. I am pretty spindly .. tiny .. and down right skinny .. is it a good thing .. sometimes , but I wish and long for a physical fitness type physique . And I intend on getting it . I start training on my butt , and my thighs .. and will move to my upper body . My trainer is aware of my adrenal issues and is ready to work around my hernia . The hernia will be taken care of first along with the first of my plastics - my lower body lift . I hope you all are still doing your exercises or some type of physical fitness . It must be in your plan daily . With the surgery .. it all makes sense .. and it brings it all into perspective .. you got to move to loose . Take care and wish my luck . .. I got a feeling I will be sore Friday .. !!! Hugs, Natalie

I am so glad evrything is falling into place for you. Are you getting all your plastics done before or after your wedding? I have not yet gotten into a routine of excersise. I know this is very important. I have a glider that I use at night when I am watching TV. I don't have the funds to get a gym membership and it's too cold to walk outside. When we, here in Va Beach, had some warm weather at the begining of the month, I was outside walking. Not very far cuz I still got worn out really fast. But now that I am a month out, I find it hard to put an excersise scedule together and stick to it. Any tips would be great. I know I had this surgery to be healthy and excersising is part of that. Sorry, enough about me. Good luck on everything. Corinn 245/213/130

Corinn.. I challenge you to get a routine together .. it is so easy to do .. trust me .. I hated to exercise at first .. hated it hated it hated it .. but now I love it . First .. It is never too cold to walk .. Layer .. Bundle up .. scaf- hat-gloves .. take it easy at first .. but you can do it .. 20 minutes to start is all you need . If you like to watch tv.. as I do .. while you are sitting there .. go grab a couple cans of veggies .. and start lifting them .. up and down .. then .. get on the floor and walk with your butt .. just move your butt mucsles and walk it across the floor .. Walmart has a resistance band .. you can find it in the exercise department .. 5 bucks .. this thing is awesome .. and really .. no need for a gym.. get it and follow the guides they give you .. you will see such a difference in your arms and back . Ya gotta move to loose .. and it also helps to firm up the flab .. Hugs and thanks ... Natalie

Hey Corinn have you checked out the prices at the YMCA I joined last week and for just me and my kids it's only $28 a month and i love that cause they have free child care that's included in that price!!!!! I've been twice and am slowing working myself up to go 5 times a week, and this way i've got a routine down and once i've had surgery it will be easy to get back in to, i love it cause they have a track in there that you can walk!!

Missy, does the excersise classes cost extra. I got a membership thru the rec center but everything costs money. I actually didn't get it for me. My 5 yr old daughter wanted to take ballet thru there and she's not old enough for a membership, but I had to get one. Go figure. I will look into the Y. Thanx Corinn

AT the one here that we got to the exercise classes didn't cost extra, but stuff like swimming lessons do.

In December when I made up my mind that I was going to get fit with or without the WLS, I started doing a kickboxing dvd that is a 50 minute workout. I have been doing it religiously 3-4 times per week with 30 minute treadmill workouts on the days that I don't do the kickboxing. I feel soooo much better! I have also lost about 10 inches all over since January 1st and about 9 pounds with no change in my eating. I am so glad that I started it because it will make it that much easier on me after surgery, I think. I can't wait to add more exercises to my routine and get better at the ones I am doing. My hats off to you, Tinkerbelle, for being so industrious even with all that you are going through. It is a wonderful stress reliever and I think it gives me more energy, too! Good Luck to you in your new exercise endeavors! Hugs, Robin

I tell you it's hard to get back to exercising after plastics. I wasn't allowed to do anything for 6 weeks and still can't do any upper arm exercises, which is what I need to work on. You'll be proud to know that I finally went back to the gym yesterday. Got on the eliptical for 30 minutes and then the spin bike for 20. I'm sore as heck but going back tommorrow. I got to get these thighs and buttocks into shape before surgery. I'm going to be completely flat "back there" if I don't do something. honey, I'm so glad that the tumor was benign. Someone is indeed watching out for our Tink. hugs, Jane

I have been working out regularly for a while now but got to thinking that the gym I am at - a ladies one - is really not challenging enough for me and if I want to lose more weight I need a different gym - so I have joined Fredericksburg Sport and Health Club and have a personal trainer for a few hours who will help me develop the program I need to get me where I want to be..... I want to lose another 20lbs or so and make the fat content of my body lower as I get ready for plastics end of the year or beginning of next year.... so I too have a lot of work to do..... Good for you Natalie - even through your health issues - to be thinking and working towards where you need to be too... Jackie

I started with walking the floodwall here in town. Quickly that became far too easy--I didn't even perspire. I graduated to the ups and down of the road in my town and interspersed those walks with hiking. Then my normal hike became too easy and I started going further and trail running back down. Now I don't feel like I got a work out unless I go 6 miles with lots of uphill--carrying a pack of at leasst 20 pounds. I feel like a million dollars! We have to keep pushing ourselves... I will see how much I have accomplished on Feb. 6--my last kinesiology testing day. I have the stress treadmill, DEXA scan, resting metabolic rate, measurements and flexibility tests for my one year surgiversary which BTW is TODAY! Glad you are on the big upswing, Nat. Lois
