Ok I happened to notice today that I have these weird cravings for salt latley. When it hits me I grab either some dry roasted peanuts or almonds or I grab some beef jerky.I sat back and looked over the last week and said hmm I have grabbed these "salt" cravings at least 2 -3 times a day.Kinda makes me worry a little and wonder if thats where my stall is coming from (last 4 weeks I have only lost 4 pds). Now on a medical note..I have had a bad UTI now for 2 weeks and went yesterday to be told it's still there and put on a diffrent medication.During that visit my blood pressure was creeping back up on me also..145/100..Not that the medical side of it probably has no connection to this but thought maybe??lol..anyways any suggestions or maybe even a kick in the ass..I think this is why my depression has gotten so bad..4 pds in 4 weeks...grrrrrrrrr..I just got the OK to start doing some exercises like walking or bike riding for now from the cardioligist. PS:Yes I checked inches..they didn't budge at all..Im still wearing the same clothes as I was pre-op

When you crave salt, it often means you have low potassium. I had the same problem about a year ago. I started taking potassium supplements and drinking more Orange Juice. I hate bananas, but they are high in potassium too. I can stand them in my protein smoothies though. Get your potassium levels checked out, it's a pretty easy fix. I was feeling better after a week of taking supplements and no longer had those salt cravings. ~Jane~

Check your protein intake as well . This may be causing you to want salt . What Jane said is so true about your potasium being low . You may try getting a suppliment started . I take it daily .. but I have a medical condition that depletes my salts and my potasium .. so I have too .. but I know oh to well about the cravings . The stall is just your body taking a break and you can restart it the loosing that is if you keep your protein up .. and your water and exercise . You have had some set backs but now that you are cleared for walking .. the weight should really come off . Trust me please .. so many start out and think they do not have to exercise and then wonder why the weight is not coming off as it should .. the equation is simple .. PROTEIN + WATER + EXERCISE = WEIGHTLOSS .. Big Hugs to you , Natalie

Somedays I could eat a few pounds of salt and somedays non my blood pressue is running about 120/70 so i am good there as far as the weight thing I droped off the plateu some but i have been eating kinda like my old ways again so now i know why i am stuck at a 40 waist. I really need to get back on the ball with things and stop the snacking thing but I am not going to beat my self up over it either. It's like knowing what i am suposed to do but too lazy to to do it. I have made a promise to my self to never go back to being huge again though so if I had to stop the soda and chips now I would. just my little rant Will

Are you getting in enough WATER? Salt cravings is not only potassium related, but directly links into dehydration! lol, unfortuantely, I type from experience.
