Tattooist in Fredericksburg help needed

Next month on the 22nd Feb it will be one year since I had my surgery and 6 days later it will be my 50th birthday. To celebrate, I want to have my very first tattoo. Something small and simple and probably on my ankle. I wondered if any of you local to me can recommend a good tattooist preferably in Fredericksburg, VA but I will travel a bit further out for someone recommened. My husband plans on throwing me a party so how near to the 28th will I have to have it done so I can show it off without it looking scabby? Thanks Jackie

Hey sweet stuff - You already know I live too far away to recommend anyone in that area - wish I could. You might want to try and contact Kathy (of Kathy and Rich) ...I know she and Rich have a few tat's and I "think" they might have used the same artist that ANTHONY (aka the Notorious ANT) who used to post on our boards, used. Ive seen a lot of Anthony's tat's up close at one of the Richmond events - awesome art!! Of course, now Im gonna show you MY newest one! I've had the long stemmed purple rose for about 2 years now - got it when I lost 200 pounds. Went to the Tat Place on New Years Day and had a butterfly added. I meant to tell you I actually know a great one in Richmond. I don't guess we would have enough time to go see him on Saturday would we? He has done many of my our son's and lots of his friends from Fairfax and south. Just a thought. Sue

I did think about that but I am helping Natalie in the morning, want to attend Metabolix in the afternoon and then the disco in the evening - so I don't really have any time..... and I am not sure I want pain in Saturday lolol! Jackie

Hey, Jackie! Rich and I both got our tattoos in Leesburg at Insane Ink. Sherry did mine (she went to HS with Rich) and did a great job. I found the design online and she did a great job mapping it to the right size and making it happen. I had mine done and about 1 week or so later the scab was coming off. Kathy

Hey woman, I just got some new ink too.. but I have to ask.. SCAB??? I haven't had a tat scab in ions.. am I abnormal? LOL My first 2 scabbed, but they were done 20+ years ago.. am I just a late scabber? I dont remember scabs the last inking.. and this time I got 2 tats, and its been since New Years Days, an no scabs thus far. Lei and I went together, I'll have to check with her, and see if hers scabbed up lol Wendy
