Hey girlies!! Looks like I am coming down for at least the Saturday night/Sunday morning portion of the events....now, what to wear????? I have to be the only person on the planet who trys to plan this stuff 6 days before I am supposed to be there!! I have been serching online to see what the fashion consisted of, so I know what to look for, but I am clueless at this point!! Where did you girls shop for the clothes you are going to wear?? I am thinking about the thrift shop I frequent, but is there something made today that would pass??? I dunno.....I am at a loss.....and then the hair styles.....straight....yup, good luck with that one....not gonna happen here.... Any advice appreciated!!! Dianna

HAHA....Thanks I dont drive in DC on a good day, even to rescue people!! So, I think I will hit the good will and see if there is something there, or I may just do jeans and a top...it is all about me seeing people anyways, right?? I will let you know about your email later in the week, I have a couple of possibilities going right now, my biggest issue was someone to care for the kids....and that is taken care of (THANKS JULIE!! ) See you Saturday!! Ya know Dianna, it really does not matter what you are wearing. Just as long as you get to come. I know of a few that will not be dressing up. But I will tell you, believe it or not, Kohls sells alot of stuff in the junior department that I think looks very retro 70's looking. If I had not kept this darn dress I have had for 30 years thats where I would be shopping. I am bringing it but I may decide to wear my jeans instead. Just depends on my mood. I can't wait to see you. I am glad you are able to work it out, Hugs, Susan

Hey Dianna, I am so glad you are coming!!! I bought bellbottom pants, a wig and I am hoping my top gets here from ebay in time - although I am leaving it tight so I may have to wear something else if I can find it in time!! But not everyone will be wearing disco so I would say it you don't see anything don't worry about it!! It is looking like anything will go !! Jackie

Wendy and I hit a few of our GOODWILLS on Sunday - and trust me here, you'd be surprised how EASY it is to find ....um... what's the word here.... uh, UGLY clothes that work perfectly for the 70's theme/era. LOL, sorry, I never cared for the 70's styles, even when I was a teenager, living the era. Just think loud, flashy, crazy, patterns that look like they were put together during a bad LSD trip (uh, is that even a drug anymore?) ...and you'll do fine. btw - I KNEW what I 'wanted/hoped' to find when we set off shopping but wasnt hopeful that Id really find them. It's very simplistic, I already owned the sparkly disco top and the 5 inch heels/clogs, just needed the right style of pants. Do ya'll remember those really tight tight (yah, TIGHT) shiny shimmery stirrip pants the ladies used to wear dancing at clubs? Not the regular stretchy cotton type, but the kind that had the extra shine to it almost looked wet? The first goodwill we walked into, found 'em!!!!! LOL, these things are so slim fitting and it's made of such a sturdy material that it's like having on a FULL girdle. From my waist to my toes. So it actually keeps all my "jiggling" down to a dull roar. Its a shame I can't bring that style back - Id probably never take these shiny things off, they give such a false sense of slimness - LOVE IT!! Oh, and of course the fact that it cost me TWO bucks (that's right, $2.00) made it all the more sweeter! LOL Oh - one more thing, if I had NOT found anything to wear at Goodwill, I had every intent of coming in jeans and a cute top - from THIS era. It's all about being comfortable and having fun - so come in anything, just be there.

Duh. Just go raid the front closet in Mom's house. Well, that is if you want to look like Nana from the 70s. I'm surprised that she doesn't have more crap from that era -- didn't she dress us in it until at least the mid 80s? For your hair, just go with what you had in the 80s. Super poofy. Haha. I guarantee the thrift store will have something. Julie
