Support Group in VA Beach??

I am trying to find a good support group in VA Beach. I am 9 months out and never been to a support group, but looking to go to one on a regular basis and meet new people that understand and have been through it all. The past month or so I feel like I am going backwards and need the right support to help me get back on track and maybe even get rid of some of this depression. Can anyone help please?...

I too am from va beach. I attend support group in portsmouth/suffolk. Im not sure if you have to attend the support group for your doctor or not...i never looked into that. But when someone knows anything, let us know! thank you.

I'm from Chesapeake. Who did your surgery? I'm going through Norfolk Surgical Group. They have a support meeting the last Thursday off every month at Va Beach General.

For what its worth, I can only make my (45 minute away) local support group once a month due to conflicts on the night they meet. And while I really look forward to going, I really benefit and enjoy the support and really good advice and help I find right here on OH.com. I touch base on teh main board but spend mostof my time on th Virginina Board and some on the Mens Board. There are a lot of wonderful, friendly, and helpful peeps out here. Just tell us whats on your mind. Its almost like a 24/7 support group for me. At least til you find a better arrangment. Joe

Hi There! Norfolk surgical does offer two different support groups. There is one that is pre op to 1 year post at Chesapeake General Life Fitness Building, and I think it is the 2nd thursday, and then the one from post op 1 year plus is in Va Beach at the Kempsville Lakes Community Building. I do enjoy getting on here (since I dont really drive all to much right now) and reading what everyone has to say and I have posted before, was just looking for something a little more when needed I guess. I am wondering about plastic surgeons in Va beach/norfolk area and if anyone has some insight into Insur (aetna) whether they pay for tummy tucks or mid body lifts
