And The WOW Moments Keep Coming- 15 Months Out
Ok....let me start out by saying that I am NOT a runner by any means, and have always been one of those who wanted to but couldn't because I was too heavy or just wasn't sure if I could do it.
Well.......I can!
I have been working back and forth between Turbo Jam (my all-time favorite) and the treadmill. But, noticed a few weeks ago that in order to really warm up on the treadmill, I had to put it at 3.5 for warm up and then get right into 3.8 or even 4.0.
So, one day I figured what the hey....let's see if I can do spurts, so I did 1 entire song at 5.0. Found that it was a bit slow, so I bumped it down to 4.0 for an entire song and then up to 5.2 for another song. Cool....I can do this in spurts.
So....I did this a few times (about 3-4 times).
Last night, though, was totally different.......I get into the 2nd spurt and stayed there for 2 back-to-back songs. It was for about 8 minutes of constant running at 5.2. HOLY CR*P!!!!!!!! It felt GREAT! I didn't feel all out of breath or anything of the sort. I probably could have gone a bit longer had I not been so excited (or the sweat dripping in my face).
Ok....I know for the runners out there, you are probably thinking..."ummmm.....ok", but for me...this was a big deal. To be healthy enough to actually do something like this.
My fitness goals for this year were to improve what I had already established. To do more sculpting and weight training, but to really improve my cardio. I REALLY want to be strong and healthy when I have my plastics done next winter. I think I'm on the right track for that.
And I am offically over my 6 week stall.....in the past 2 days, I have lost 2 pounds, putting me at 141. How cool is that????? That's 122 pounds down, and 4 pounds below MY goal weight. Maybe I will get to the weight my doc put in my chart (135)...who knows.
What a GREAT way to start off the New Year!

Great job, Jill. That's very inspiring because I just joined the gym (finally) and have been walking on the treadmill, very scared of running. I stay at 3.5 right now and do that for 30 minutes to an hour. I was watching a man run next to me thinking I'll never be able to do that. Now I know that it IS a possibility.
Thank you!
