Update

Hi all. I thought I'd post a quick update for those that are interested. My second round of qualifying for surgery, first in VA, now in NC, is done. Actually, it was done a month ago. My nurse/case manager sat on the paperwork for about a month and finally, after much pushing, hand delivered it yesterday to the surgeon's office. My surgeon in NC, Dr. Chapman, has the policy that you have to come in for a "decision visit" before they will submit to insurance. They called and gave me an appointment for Dec. 21, so I have to wait yet another month before they will submit. I guess that I've waited this long, what's another month. What I'm hearing is that they are scheduling surgeries for about a month from approval. So I think it's looking like early to mid February. It feels like I've been qualifying forever, but finally I'm getting close to the end. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. Take care. ~Ellen

Thanks Natalie. I realized a few days ago that it'd been so long since I'd looked at my surgeon's information packet, I'd forgotten what was expected of me post-op. Time to enter that learning phase again. Thanks for the reminder. Take care and feel better quickly. ~Ellen
