1 week post op update on me
Hi all I come and sneek peeks on posts to keep up to date alittle well its been a week now wedesday actually will be a full week from when I had my surgery. and I guess i was some what nervous of the vomiting or dumping. I have not had any vomiting or upset stomach nothing has made me feel the need to throw up so that is soooooooo good. dumping not sure ive had any of that... in the hospital and alittle the first day at home on sat i got like a heat flash so i sat back and put a cold wash cloth on my head it went away... ive been able to tolerate all my fluids.... i drink my shakes have one sugar free popsicle at night had broth in a cup yesterday it was actually good a change from the shakes and the broth had 15 grams of protein in it.
im getting around alot better i even drove myself to the grocery store with the help of my 15 yr old daugther to take groceries to the car and to the house. i might of done alittle to much..
but ive developed a little couch probably cuz i couldnt breath deep in the hospital so i have a couch now it doesnt feel the greatest with the tiny incisions but its not killin me.
ooh and the best part since last wedesday... ive already lost 10 pounds : )) a little funny story i told my husband not to make me laugh cuz it was sore to laugh cuz of my stomach. so i go into the rest room and come out and tell him "Loren I weighed myself this morning and i was 240 and i weighed myself tonight and now I'm, 239" he said so you sat there on that sofa chair all day and lost a pound.. I guess you had to be here but he laughed and i tried really hard not to laugh. so I'm LOVING THIS. I miss food of course but its not forever. and its worth it now : )) Im looking forward to my future. I see the light at the end of this fat life Ive been living for soo long.
anyways thats alittle update on someone *****cently had lap gastric. : ))
Beth
Beth you are doing really well! You do not automatically dump or throw up. I am almost 9 months out and I have not thrown up or dumped once..... You will know if you dump - it is not something you can forget - so I am told....
It is important to breathe as deep as you can, you can still practise that and expand your lungs.... it helps in the long run.
Keep up the good work! Everything you do from now on will help you in the future!
Take care
