Peeling fingernails???

Hi everyone Has anyone out there had any problems with their fingernails peeling off in layers? My thumbnail on my right hand is peeling off..it started near the cuticle and almost an inch up has completely peeled off to the skin..and sore? heck yeah it is sore. I am going to the doc today to see what is going on. hugs Judyb

Hi Judy! Sounds awful! I don't know the answer, just wanted to say I'm sorry you have to deal with this! Could it be lack of protien or some other nutrients? just a thought! Take care, Bob

Peeling fingernails is the sign of a vitamin A defiency and possibly B-1 (thiamine). Start taking a good Hair, Skin and nails vitamin formula that contains both Vit A and biotin and start massaging your fingernails with olive oil (Olive oil keeps them soft and it's somthing you have around).
