Weight loss stalls......

Hello Dana - My body had a real FUNKY way of losing the weight. The initial month or two, it was sometimes daily, or at the least, every few days, but then it kinda just changed up it's 'loss' ALL by itself. Thankfully, I was able to learn *my* bodies trends/pattern and ACCEPT it early on, or it would have left me feeling hopeless with 230 lbs to lose. After about 3 or 4 months post op, my body would ONLY lose weight ONCE every 4 to 5 weeks. NOTHING the entire month, and then I'd wake up and be down 6 to 10 lbs, overnight, BAM, just like that. Strange huh? LOL, and NO I didn't leave any of it in da' sheets, missy! Not losing for 4 or 5 weeks did not not mean I was stuck in plateau mode, it meant my body had a pattern and it was the true leader in charge, not my brain, which wanted to see results more often. So, regardless of what my mind said, or what other peoples weight loss STATS, dictated, it wasn't going to be mine. I think if you can discover your specific pattern, it'll save you a lot of grief and stress in the upcoming year. LOL, Oh, and just in case it doesn't? ...ditch the scales. Hugs - Lei

Aaaw, my pleasure Jean, I'm glad some of my nonstop ramblings are of help. I've rec'd so much help over the last 5 years from others here on OH, that it feels good to reach out and share some of my experiences. It's all about paying it forward! I read your update to Dana and I can only imagine the EXTRA dose of flusterpation that comes with being 1 pound away from ONE-derland! You'll DO IT, absolutely will do it, and the best part? You'll SURPASS it. It's just a matter of time and whether we like it or not, our bodies decide the time frame, not our heads. Thanks for your very kind words, it's left a big ol' smile on my face! Hugs- Lei

Hey Lei! I am so glad you posted this because I was just starting to hit a little frustration...I'm doing my near 2 mile walk every day (today I hit the full 2 miles...woo hoo). Anyway, It took from Friday until Monday before I initially even lost anything. Then I was dropping 2-3 pounds per day. By Friday I was at 13 pounds gone. My weight loss then decided to take the weekend off...not an ounce all weekend. Then Monday, 1 pound and today, another big fat zippo!! In 7 days I lose 13 pounds and then in 4 days, I lose 1 pound!! That stinks! But thanks for making me feel better! Christine

Hey Honey........ Well, mine stalls more often then I would like. Everytime the last number says 3 or 7, I stall (funny, huh???). But, I stall for a very short time compared to others and it's pretty consistent. So, I've learned to just whine through it (hehehe). Jill
