Fellow OH'ers Okay, I am 13 months post-op open RNY. I have lost 178 pounds and am thrilled with my new smaller body. I am healthier than I've been in years and have too much energy *grins* I've been sitting at 153-155 for the past 4 months. I do have alot of extra skin, but am unable to do anything about it until next April (income tax, Christmas, and Birthday monies ) I have mixed up my exercise program and have been adding more calories to my diet one week, and then going back to my normal the next. Here's my question. I *want* to lose about 25 more pounds and everyone thinks I'm crazy. Is there a point that your body says "NO MORE!!" ?!?!?! When it's "found" its perfect weight, will it hold on to everything I eat just to maintain there? Any and all replies are most welcome.

Frankly, I wouldn't stress it. Your body has been through tremendous changes in the last year, and it deserves a little rest. Also, all that extra skin has weight too, maybe even as much as 20 of the 25 lbs you want to lose. You do still have quite a few months left on the "window", so it's possible you may lose more weight naturally, especially if you are continuing to follow your surgeon's rules. Congratulations on your spectacular success. Time for you to relax and enjoy it a little. Good luck, Carole

I'm 5'5" and my goal weight is 130. I am going to be somewhat flexible with that, however. I have no idea if my body will tell me it wants to be something OTHER than 130 or not. Lois

I was just curious because your height makes all the diifference in the world for what you "should" weigh. I know the BMI scale says I should weigh some really outrageous low amount; but I'm happy where I've been hovering (186-190lbs @ 5'10") and would really rather stay right around here. But the additional amount you want to loose, I would simply advise that you keep an eye on yourself and if 15lbs is good then stop there. Don't get hung up on the number. Keith
