Topic: Gaining weight
I need help to get on the bandwagon again. I can't eat a lot but I can eat almost anything. I can't believe I didn't eat any bread, pasta, white carbs for 18 months! How did I do that? I don't have to eat much to gain weight and now that I have started I feel like The Hulk - I'm rapidly returning to being a fat person. I swore this would never happen to me!
Anyone have adivce or in the same boat?
Thanks
LM

Topic: **NEW** OH BETA Site
Hi Everyone
Over the weekend Obesityhelp had an Easter egg hunt. Those who missed it or never did find the egg, I'm going to tell you what it led to. We have been working hard to bring a more feature-rich experience to all our dedicated members and are pleased to announce that the BETA version is publicly available for you to browse and use! Keep in mind the site is not 100% complete, which means we are still adding and changing things. This rollout focuses around implementing a new navigation, customizable homepage, bookmarks and a few other neat items that we know you will enjoy; however, our job is not complete. We are also in the process of adding more requested features to the site including: a new profile system, blogs, photo albums, private messaging, and much, much more. Stay tuned for more updates on these specific items.
In the next few days there will be some changes to the message boards. We will be converting the boards to our new system, which you can see in action now in the Emotional Eating and Magazine forum. We are going to start with the main message board and work our way through all the boards. Some features in the new boards include: the ability to edit your own posts, delete a post, have signature lines, and font selections.
Check out the BETA site here:

We are anticipating the full launch of the site sometime next week, so one day you will come to the site and it's going to be totally different, so make sure you check out the beta site and familiarize yourself with it now :jump:
Moving forward to better things!

Topic: RE: Surgery in Mexico... Fill Doctors in Utah
Thank you SOOOO much for the information, I will contact this Doctor to see if he will take outside patients and if he does his fills via Fluoroscope. Every surgeon I have spoken with said that Fluoro is the only way to go even though it costs more, it is also less risky of puncturing the tube. Do you know if he does his fills using the fluoro method?
FillCentersUSA are just a clinic with little experience and they do not use Fluoro. I was less than impressed after speaking with the Pocatello location. I had hopes of it being great, but it is just a slap together operation with a tech/nurse having gone through a sit-in with a surgeon. I would be fine with this set up if they had the use of the X-ray equipment, but with so much riding on the outcome of a fill, I can not take the risk of this system of fills.
Thank you for the invite to the dinner. It sounds fun. However, I think I will wait until I am banded so I do not order the largest meal!

Topic: RE: insurance for Lap Band
Yes, I have a Lap Band. I took out a home-equity loan to pay for mine. I hated to do it, but I do not regret it at all.
2.5 years out from surgery, and I have lost 80.5 lbs.
Topic: RE: Surgery in Mexico... Fill Doctors in Utah
I had my surgery South Valley Surgical in Sandy, Utah, just because I wanted the peace of mind that if anything went wrong, I was within 30 minutes of my own doctor who knows me and my surgical history. I also know several people who had their surgery in Mexico and feel great about their experience. Most of them use Dr. Green down in Payson for their fills, and I have heard hardly anything but good about him. Here is his contact info: Dr Stanley Green - Mountain View Hospital
1000 E 100 N,
Payson, UT 84651
(801) 465-7000
I think he charges around $250.00 for each fill.
Also, check out this link:
http://www.fillcentersusa.com/locator/index.php
It looks like the closest one to Salt Lake is Pocatello, ID.
I am not sure how much they charge or any of the specifics.
One more thing, there is a group of us BANDSTERS that get together for an unofficial support group/dinner. Our next one is this coming Monday. Feel free to come and join us, there are several who have had surgery locally and several who went to Mexico. Here are the specifics:
Monday, April 24th at 5:30
at Marie Callendar's in WEST VALLEY
2882 W. 4700 South, West Valley City, UT 84118
801-966-7400
Let me know by 3:00 p.m. that Monday if you plan on attending so we know how many to plan for.
Good luck in your decision!

I'm shopping for surgeons. Has anyone used Dr. Cheng in Bountiful? Who have you used, and liked?
Topic: Worried
I am now 2.5 months out. I am growing increasigly worried. I am still losing weight at the same rate about 1-1.5 lbs a day but feel that I am able to eat so much more. I am still only eating 1/4 of a cup at a time it is just getting easier to do so. Is this normal and does this have anything to do with maybe the swelling in my stomach going down? I am just worried that I have stretched it all back out. Is it possible that I am just getting used to the new food amount and I am not feeling so restricted by what I eat? I would love to hear if anyone can relate!

Thanks for answering. Did you have lap band? If so, how did you pay for it?
