Topic: RE: will local docs do fills?
Summer, check out http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/UtahBandsters, and look back through the archives. This topic is often addressed on that site. I do think that Marianne is correct though, that Dr. Green is the only Utah doctor who will fill "non-patients" and I think that his price just increased. : ( sorry

I think Dr. Green in Payson is the only one in Utah who will do fills on "non-patients".

Topic: RE: will local docs do fills?
I don't have an answer for you, sorry. But, I would advise you to call as many local surgeons you can until you find one that is willing to do it. I understand that docs can be really picky about doing fills for another surgeon's work. That's why I think you should REALLY make sure that you have someone willing to do it before you get the surgery. It would really be terrible to go through surgery only to find out that you can't get fills.
Also, for your own safety, you need someone nearby who can do unfills or take care of complications if necessary.

Topic: will local docs do fills?
i am going to a doc 550 miles away for surgery since i have no docs near me approved for new medicare standards, i will travel if necessary, but being so expensive i was wondering if anyone knows about doctors doing "just fills" for patients locally if they had surgery with another surgeon? i see that many have local fills if they go to mexico or somewhere but have never seen anything about a situation like mine. only 8 hours away. can anyone help? i seem to be getting the run around from office staff. if possible, how much out of pocket will that be? probably less than $250 to travel. please help. thanks much

# 1 in my book is support group meetings. Yes talking here is great. But getting up in fround of a group of people who have had WLS and telling the truth is what keeps me in line. So find a support group and go. And remember you can start over today and get back on track. Good luck, Sharon Lopez from California

Hi Summer: My name is Sharon and I live in California, I would love to help if I could. My doctor is Dr. Suh and he only does the RNY If you could go to him for your surgery I would have you stay with me until he gives you the ok to go home. I know it's not much but I really care about you. Becasue you are me. I was in your shoes a year ago. My highest weight was 250 and now I'm 150 and very happy. My life is not like it use to be. And want your life to change like mine did. Ask me any question you want I'm here most of the time. Talk with you soon. Sharon Lopez www.slopez384@aol.com
