Topic: HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP
Hi Everyone I am 5 yrs post op and need help and encouragement. I lost 105 lbs in the first 8 months. I was 15 lbs from goal, and I had a couple of bites (honest - that's all) and it stopped my weightloss dead in its tracks! Nobody (including the surgeons office) told me that if you start eating carbs, that this would happen. They just said not to eat carbs. Who can resist warm homemade bread? LOL! I understand carbs and how they affect me, a whole lot more now, than 5 yrs ago. My problem is I am an emotional eater, and my marriage is not the greatest and I munch a lot on peanut M&M's. Depression is a big part of my life, and I take anti depressants. It's an uphill battle. I take my vitamins again and protein drinks and have a treadmill now. I know all I have to do is eat right and in the right amounts......... easier said than done. Does anyone live near West Point? I really need a friend I can talk to and be with. I am thinking about going to St. Marks for the support group as the one in Davis Co. is no longer there. Any encouragement is welcome Thanks Carole

Topic: RE: PSSSSST! Wanna see my new BLOG?
Apparently some folks think I'm trying to profiteer by selling y'all FREE government publications!! The newly revised manual for women, "HEALTHY HEART" has a $4.00 price from its source: the National Institute of Health. I don't get a cent. The May magazine I tease you about is, likewise, a free magazine. AAAAAnd the FREE workshops I mention are just that, I am not charging anyone a cent to attend, though there is a fee to attend the weekend conference. Details may be found at: http://embodysuccess.spaces.live.com Lauralyn

Topic: New Olympic endorsed "gel' vitamins
Needed to get the exciting word out for Agel supplements that allows us to never have to swallow or chew another vitamin or any supplement again. Agel vitamins and several other supplements are all in "gel" form and in one time dosage packages. The 2008 Olympic committee has just approved and endorsed these supplements for their 2008 athletes. This is wonderful news for all us bariatric surgery patients and family and friends for bariatric surgery patients. Please go to www.agel.com to learn more about these amazingly powerful supplements that will bounce you back to a healthy and slimmer individual. For more info please email questions to [email protected]

Topic: Riding my bike
As a volunteer clown, participating in functions to help children, I often ride one of those silly little bikes where my knees are above the handle bars. As a chubby clown I had problems riding them. As a slim downed clown the small bikes are much easier although I prefer my carbon frame, Kestrel Road Bike now. Now that I am almost to my goal I plan to spend the next ten years riding my bike in events across the USA. The plan is to ride in five events each year which will give me whole USA after ten years. There are many bike rides sponsored annually by worthy charitable organizations. Riding my bike will allow me to help others while helping myself maintain my newfound slimness. I wanted to commit to this on the state forums as a reminder to myself that the surgery is only the first step; a life-style change is imperative if I want to maintain. I intend to do that on my bike. Kim

It's been there for just over a year, But every week we have another few men show up with the usual- "So This Is where the Guys are! I thought I was alone!" It's a diverse make up of Dads, Singles, Older, younger, etc... Pre-Ops, Post-Ops new and some Old (at Goal) Post-Ops. Lap-Banders, RNY'ers, DS, VSG's etc... Great bunch of guys with the mutual understanding That WLS - for Men - can be a totally Different Journey. Topic: RE: Anyone in Utah had Medicare pay?
Hi Paula, First of all do you have Medicaid? Medicaid WILL pay for this surgery and the doctor to call is Dr. Max Cannon in Payson at 801-465-1701. Medicare does not pay for anyone in Utah at this time. Keep me posted. I would like to know how you are doing. I am 54 and weighed in at 371 the first time I got on the scales at Doc's office. This man is awesome and HE has had the surgery himself. Call him, he may be able to help. Sheila [email protected]
