Topic: Wanting to learn more about Lap Band surgery
I was contemplating on doing the LapBand surgery in the near future and was wondering what all of your experiences have been. I have some questions, if you don't mind answering for me:
How was your energy level in the first 2-4 weeks after the surgery?
How was it doing the liquid and then pureed food diet in the weeks following surgery? Was it hard psycholigically to give up food and know that this was your new way of eating?
How much weight did you lose in the first month? to date?
Have you had to do very many adjustments with the band since you had the surgery?
Are you glad you had the surgery?
Thanks!

Hey Carole,
Boy do I hear everything you are saying. I am new on this website, just today. I am hoping to see that I am not alone in this battle. I had the surgery in December 2003, I lost 160 lbs but have found 60 of them back. I cannot get past this point, I need to start losing them again. I am soooooo frustrated. It is good to see that I am not alone.
I live in West Valley City........so I am not far.

Hey Paula.
So far I am just waiting to start with Starbucks. I've "got" the job or so they say....just waiting to see when I actually train. I have to wait 90 days and then I qualify for benefits and then I will go thru the process. I went to RMAP's orientation class and I was so not impressed. But I will save final judgment after I actually meet with dr face to face. But I'm worried. Band or no band....open or lap....etc.
I picked August 1 for your surgery date. Hopefully I'm completely wrong and you are completely recovered from being switched by then. LOL.
If you ever want to talk, PM me and I will send you my number. I live in Clinton which is south of Ogden but north of Salt Lake City. Heck even north of Bountiful.

Hi Tammy!
I'm glad to know that you are still out there and planning to get your surgery redone. I am kind of going through the freak, cause I think it is pretty close now. Of course you never know what hurdles are going to be presented. I am just excited at the chance to have a life. Are you still trying to find a surgeon? Tell me what is going on with you.
Nice to have someone in the same state to visit with!

Hi again. I am interested in hearing/talking to people who have had DS here too. Right now as it stands, you will be having surgery before I do so I am following your story CLOSELY! LOL.
But I just wanted to offer my support here and say that I was thinking of you.

Hi!
Has anyone from Utah had the duodinal switch surgery? I am planning on having it later this summer and would love to talk to some local folks who have had this operation.
Thanks

Let the words of my mouth and meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord my strength and my redeemer.
For all of you that have cable tv and get The Learning Channel, Starting on Monday of next week they will begin broadcasting a new show called Big Medicine. I'm looking forward to this and I'm hoping to glean more information and help out of it also. It will be on Monday evening sometime. I look forward to watching it and seeing what goes on.

Hey!
Try posting this on the Main Board.
1. There is a wider audience and I see Utahns there more then here.
2. You can get more encouragment from those who have "been there" no matter where they live.
Sorry you are having such a hard time....sometimes this wls stuff just sucks.
