Topic: Personal experiences with post-surgery LapBand? Wanna know what it's like

man, this board is slower than molasses!! Is anyone alive on here??? LOL I really wanna find out what people's experiences are after having the LapBand surgery. What was it like eating for the first 8 wks? How was your energy level? How much weight did you lose in the first 3 months? I have a lot of questions I'd like to ask, and this is the only place I can think of to look. Is there another site that I can actually get answers to my questions, without having to wait forever to get responses? Thanks.

Topic: favorite protein bars??

I'm just wondering if any of you have a favorite low carb, low sugar-alcohol protein bar??.....I'm looking for new ideas on what is easy, portable and nutritionally rewarding. I used to use the "Pure Protein" bars but I think the sugar alcohols are bothering me.

Thanks Tammy. I have a few questions about Dr. Hansen and overall on your personal experience with the lap band. I'm not sure I want Dr. McKeen, with him being in both CA and UT (for post-op). I want someone who is based here in UT. Would you mind answering questions on here or via email? I really would like a personal experience with the lap band, to help me know if it's for me and help me feel more comfortable about proceeding with the steps towards surgery. It won't be for another 6-8 mos (when I quit nursing my baby), but I am doing research up until when I decide and start making appts with the dr. Thanks.

Topic: Dr. Robert McKeen? Anyone heard of him?

I am looking around to see who the good doctors are for Lap-Band in the Utah area. Anyone heard of this guy, Dr. Robert McKeen? If so, please tell me about him and what you've heard or think of him. I am currently breastfeeding, but in about 6-9 months, I can really consider having the Lap-Band, when I stop nursing my little one. Is there a website, that I can check his credentials and see if he is a good doctor? Thanks. Oh and is this board normally this SLOOOOOW? I hardly see any posts on threads, just views.

Topic: 3 days after surgery

I finally got a full night sleep last night. The first two days after surgery were miserable. I still don't feel like eating and not sure how long it will take. I feel much better this morning. I still feel a little like I have a stomach virus or something. Not really pain, just an uncomfortable feeling in the middle of my stomach....Ken

Ken, good luck on your surgery! I've heard a lot of sucess from people that have had it done and I'm sure you'll be one of those too. I hope to have it one day too!

Well I am informed about what the surgery is and all the info that goes with it. I was just looking for personal experiences from people who actually have had it done. And I had some specific questions that aren't answered in some of the testimonials I've read. And it's even better coming from people who live in Utah, so I thought I'd come here and ask! Thanks for the info though.

Hello, My name is Ken and this is my first time here. I am having my LapBand surgery tomorrow at 4:45 p.m I have already lost 25 pounds in past month and half just getting ready for the diet changes. I am very nervous and excited at the same time. Wish me Luck
