I have my surgery scheduled with Dr. Hansen on Monday July 16th. I orginally had it scheduled with Dr. Alldredge but due to a scheduling conflict I had to switch doctors. I have several friends that used Dr. McKeen and loved him! I reccomend trying to attend the next seminar.

I had Lap Band surgery through Rocky Mountain Associated Physicians on June 4th. I went with Dr. McKinlay and I LOVE him! I've had no problems or complications whatsoever - and they have a really good educational program. Good Luck!

I ate soft foods after about a week. Then for about 3 weeks soft foods while I was healing.I was really tired for about one month, You will lose the most weight while you are on the liquids so I would suggest you stay on liquids for an long as you can. At that point when you start food you will gain some. I am a slow loser, so I guess I lost about 20 pounds the first 3 months.

I used Dr. McKeen and would recomend him to anyone. He flys in from California twice monthly to do surgerys and consult with patients, he and his Nurse give you their phone #'s and they can be reached any time. She lives in Utah and could do a unfills if you needed it. He is awsome!

I came on this page because I was going to Utah for vacation and wanted to know what was happening with regard to WLS:-) You may want to post your quesiton on the lap band board which is very active. I have been banded since september and it has been pretty uneventful until recently. Being on liquids was the toughest for me but mushies was good since I really like soup and things like softly scramble which became a stable for me. In the first 3 months I lost only about 10 pounds put those are 10 pounds that I know I would not have lost without WLS and to date have not gained them back which I am sure I would have before WLS.
