Topic: RE: Salt Lake Regional Medical Center...?'s
I actually had my RNY @ St Marks on June 12th and they were so great! I have a great doctor and they have a contract w/St Marks that really helps the self pay patients out quite a bit.

Hi there! I'm feeling great and it has only been a week. I'm back to work and feeling normal, aside from not being able to eat the same things or as much. I just had my 1 week post-op with Dr. Richards earlier today and she said things look great. She's a nice lady and very informative when I have questions. I'd feel very comforable in her hands again. I've already lost 13 pounds (water weight mostly) and am excited for the changes. I stuck to the diet schedule really strictly for the first few days post-op until I didn't have to look at the paper anymore. I've had my moments of being really hungry and weak, usually because I haven't been drinking my protein enough (really tired of it). The recovery is so much more emotionally demanding rather than physicially taxing, at least for me and the lap band. I really have to change my thinking in order to be successful. I feel like I've been given a gift, and I need to make the most of it. Let me know how your surgery goes. Stay strong, it'll be SO worth it!!

Topic: RE: Able to eat too much right out of surgery?
Well I am 4 months post almost five. I am down 100 lbs but I can eat pretty much anything & quite a bit. Not as much as before & my tastes have changed but I think the weight will come back soon if I dont check into a weigh****chers or a program that allows me to relearn how to eat. I feel hungry all day.

Topic: RE: Gaining weight back
It has been 29 years since my bypass. June 30, 2008 I hd the Stomaphyx surgery to kick my butt back into gear as I had gained almost everything back over the 29 years. ARG! The surgery is outpatient. The first couple of days weren't fun....but worth it! I am on my 9th day and have lost 21 pounds! WAHOO! I am so excited. I am on liquids until next week the I get to add "moist white fish" and "well cooked vegetables." I'll keep you posted. Surgery by Dr. Robert McKeen in Orem.
