insurance for Lap Band

Does anyone know of an insurance that will cover lap band surgery? I have Tri West. They approved stomach bypass but they consider lap band experimental and won't pay.

I think United Health Care is pretty good about covering the surgery. Also, Deseret Mutual I have heard is pretty good about it too. Call South Valley Surgical and ask to speak with their Insurance Specialist. 571-9511 or go to SVSurgical.com I have BCBS and they would not cover it either, I also do not think that IHC will cover it.

Yes, I have a Lap Band. I took out a home-equity loan to pay for mine. I hated to do it, but I do not regret it at all. 2.5 years out from surgery, and I have lost 80.5 lbs.
