I am currently 6 weeks out from my surgery and have found that my knees ache constantly. I never had knee problems with arthritis in the past even at my heaviest. I would just like to hear if others have encountered any problems post-op. Thanks!

Hey Stefani, Andre here. Were you at the Feb. support group? I'm thinking you were the one with low energy and didn't think it would be possible to take so many naps? Hope your body is adapting to the low caloric intake better. Anyways, glad to see more and more people on here. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions for your knee pain. As far as post op problems?.....I got "stuck" this last week. Holy crap that hurt. Had to get my fill taken out to let it pass. If i would've had bypass i would've had to have surgery. See you at the next meeting. Andre

As they say, "This too shall pass!" You are walking more and for the first time in a long time your knees are being exercised more. It will pass and you will notice in about 4 months that you wonder when and where the pain went. It just takes time. One thing that can help (I'm no Dr.) is to take calcium magnesium (citrate form) it is natures natural sedative and for joint aches, a pain killer of limited amount. the Calcium works on the nerve endings. What could (again I'm no Dr.) be happening is your body is experiencing a lack of calcium. You need increased amt now and for the rest of your life. Do not rely on drinking milk and milk products. Get the supplements and be faithful. Read up on the side effects of lack of calcium and you will se joint pain is one of them.
