Pregnant 7 months out
hi all . yikes! i'm 4 weeks pregnant and am only 7 months post-op. i would love to hear from some others who got pregnant within the first year after WLS. anyways, i had LAP RNY and am down 115 pounds. i want to lose another 45 (to make it to 175. i'm tall!) but i guess that will have to wait until after this baby is born. good luck to all, and if you can offer some words of wisdom, please do .

Congrats SuzAnne!
I have a friend that got pregant 11 months out. They hadn't been able to have children for 7 yrs, so losing weight definitely helped her. She's doing great, but has to work really hard to get that extra weight off.
Stay close to your Dr., ask lots of questions and work hard. Don't forget to exercise! It gets easy to get relaxed and use the baby as an excuse to eat more and not exercise as much! Good Luck! You'll do great!
Some one in the information class I went to about lap band asked about getting pregnant and they said there wouldn't be any trouble. The only concern they would have is if you were throwing up a lot and the band might move if it hadn't healed in place yet. They even said that if you weren't getting enough nutrition through the opening they could open it a bit for you and then make it smaller again after the baby was born. That made sense. Anyway, congratulations on your new baby. That's so exciting.
