St Marks

Today i checked in to St Marks for my upcoming WLS, and i was in the nurse's office and the lady helping me was nice and friendly.  Then as we were doing all the questions and such another lady walked in and she said to the lady that was helping me "Looks like the class is out"  she then directed a question to me and it made me shocked....she said

"so did you feel skinny at the meeting"  I said what? 

She then said that there is alot of BIG poeple in that meeting, so did it make you feel skinny?

I was shocked, here i am getting a WLS surgery because i am over weight and clearly she thought she was funny....

If my surgery was not scheudled this upcoming week, i would have gone and gotten my money back and asked the office to move my surgery to another hospital....

I am going to call and let the office at St Mark's know about this incident as soon as my surgery is over.,

So much for empathy, huh?  That's too bad.  Some people just don't "get it" when it comes to what it is like to be obese.  

Wishing you well on your surgery, it will not be long!  Welcome to the Utah board as well.  I love hearing from Utahns!

I would definately complain.  They already have customer service problems.

WOW that is where i had my surgery. They were all great and never once did i hear anything like that. they actually babied me while i was there.

I am not sure if you would feel comfortable saying, but who was it if you don't mind me asking?
