Hi,

I had my surgery on January 9, 2009 by Dr. Steven Simper and he was GREAT!!!!  I had minimal pain after surgery (gas).  I was up walking around two hours after surgery and my incisions are beautiful.  I would highly recommend him to anyone.  He is with Rocky Mountain Associated Physicans and I also Loved RMAP.  Good luck with anyone who is considering Dr. Simper.  He's GREAT!!!!!

All of the surgeons over at RMAP are amazing.  Dr. Steven Simper, Dr. Sherman Smith and Dr. Rodney McKinley.  You are in good hands with any of them.  If you choose RMAP, however, and they are a good choice, watch out for Dr. Smith's nurse, Carly.  She is unbelievably rude.

Also keep in mind that RMAP charges a $500 educational fee.  It's well worth it if you attend the support meetings after surgery but something to keep in mind if you are not in any of the areas (really SLC).

But all in all, success with this surgery is mostly about the surgeon and you can't go wrong with any of them at RMAP.

Thank you for the information on Dr. Simper, I haven't met him yet, still waiting for my insurance appeal to give me the go ahead.  He is the only surgeon in the state that does the surgery I want, so it's good to hear some positive reviews.

If I was undecided about a surgeon before, I think this is the clincher!

LOL.  Yes, he does have quite the mustache, and he carries it off well.

I finally got to meet him, he will be doing my surgery in 2 weeks.  He is very personable, very intelligent and I found him kind.  He has done relatively few DS surgeries, but he talked to me about his training process and that coupled with his years (decades really) of bariatric surgery, I feel very comfortable with him.  I guess we will see!
