I am in a stall and getting very frustrated.  I had surgery on December 17, 2007 and have lost 42lbs.  I have not lost anything for the last two weeks!  I am not sur what is going on.  I will gain 2lbs then loose 2lbs, just can't get past the up and down.  Any suggestions?  Is this normal?  Thanks for your suggestions.

Yes thats normal , Its just your body making an adjustment. Stick to the plan and the weight will soon start peeling off again in no time .   Btw 42 Lbs is no small feat , you should be proud of that .  Nick

Thanks for the feed back and encouragement!  I was begining to get discouraged, but I did loose a pound when I weighed myself today.  Maybe I am over my rut!

I am curious to know how much weight you have lost since this last post?  What happened to you is what I am afraid of.  I am afraid I will get the surgery and I wont loose alot of weight.  I am diabetic and I have insulin resistance!! I once detoxed for 10 days drinking only the lemon water concoction and only lost 4lbs, and gained it back once I ate for one day!! I don't want to go through so much life change to only loose 20 - 40 lbs, so I am hoping you started back loosing in a big way and are you diabetic?

Since my last post I have lost a total of 57lbs.  I am very excited about this.  I am now half way to my goal.  I can't wait to see what the next few months will bring.  The change in weather has made it easier for me to get out and excersize.  You asked if I was diabetic, no I am not.

I had my surgery last May and I am insulin resistant also. When I had my surgery I was taking 60 units of insulin 2X a day. I than took humilog on sliding scale. I still couldn't get my sugars down. I also took cozaar for kidneys, something for cholesterol, lortab for neuropathy, prozac for depression etc. I have only lost 60 lbs. but I only take 30 units of lantas at night and once in a while if I am not good and eat sugar I need a lortab. But that is not very good. My A1C has gone from 11 to 7 I know that is not perfect but for me it is really good. I am not really happy with my weight loss. I was hoping for at least 80 lbs in a year and I am losing so slow I am sure that will not happen. I started at 270 and I am now at 210. I have a long way to go but for me it was the best thing I could have done. I also went to Mexico so I don't have a support group here. Dr. Muse does my fill and I am going to see him for a consultation on the 8th. I hope he can help me. I loved my dr. in Mexico and felt like I had excellent care, but I wish I had a support system here. If you hear of anyone that will take on Mexican patients let me know. Thanks Kay

Wow, your story is what I am afraid of, I have my first consultation in Salt Lake 5/23/08 and I keep switching my decision from lap band to rny.  I am afraid the lap band won't produce a weight loss now.  I take about the same amount of insulin along with micardis for high blood coreg for preventative heart disease and I weigh 270t 5ft 4in.!!  My A1C was 12 and now it is 9.9 so I am still out of control.  If I hear anything to help you I will definately let you know, thanks for sharing and answering my questions I am still weighing my options.
