I did not! They went in to do it but evidently there is too much scar tissue from my first surgery. They weren't even able to see my hiatal hernia to fix it. And all three surgeons from the office were working on me! Seems they hadn't seen this much before! Oh well.

Just a note to see who's on and to say good morning! Hope everyone is doing well today! I'm working on getting my craft supplies packed out of my parents house so we can get their belongings dealt with. And I'm knitting my little dog Bitsy a sweater because it's getting so cold now! Bless her heart! I got her groomed and she's used to having hair, but no more! ?

Well, gonna get to work now and hopefully get some work done! Hope everyone has a great day!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Great job on the weight loss! I completely understand about the skin! That's been one of my problems as well. Usually, if you can get your dr to say it's a health issue and not a cosmetic issue, insurance will pay for its removal. I say it's worth trying anyway. The worst they can do is say no, right? And some doctors that do the procedure have payment plans that they will work with you on because they know the drag on your mental health that the extra skin causes! Do some research and see if there is one in your area that does it! Or if you're willing to travel, maybe in a big metro area like DFW or Houston.

I've been having the same problems lately off and on which led me to consult the dr who took over my weight loss dr's practice. I've had an upper gi and endoscopy and found out that my pouch was way stretched out. I don't know if that was causing my discomfort or not but I'm getting revision surgery soon. And I'm 63 yo btw.

Hey everyone! I'm having revision surgery soon and thought it would be a good idea to hop on and reconnect with old friends and hopefully make some new ones!

I originally had RNY in 2006 with Dr. Dirk Rodrigues and did really well. I got down to my goal weight of 180 and kept it off for about 6 years. I am a disabled veteran diagnosed with PTSD due to Military Sexual Trauma (MST). My job (USPS) ended up walking me out after 27 years of dedicated service because I was an Injured On Duty (IOD) employee and they didn't want any of us on their rolls. Evidently they thought it looked bad for their reputation! IDK. So I started eating more and more and sitting on the couch that I gained weight and stretched my pouch out.

I ended up at a job that I loved at the US Dept of Education and worked there until I retired in 2019. Still gaining weight tho. My parents health started to rapidly decline and they started falling so I moved in with them Jan 2020, right before the pandemic. My father passed in Aug 2021 at 91 yrs. We had a love hate love (narcissistic) relationship but I miss him very much. Then my mother started rapidly declining with Parkinson's Disease and dementia and life got so much more difficult that my health was way back on the farthest burners you can imagine. She was my total focus for now and was the love of my life. She passed in Nov 2022.

It's been some time now and we (my sister and I) are just starting to go through their house and inventory 50 years of a loving home. I never thought it would be this difficult. But I want to start focusing on my health now and have been approved for revision surgery that should happen soon after the first of the year 2024 with Dr. Nick Nicholson in Plano, TX. What a great office and a wonderful group of people!

Wish me luck! I'm going to start trolling the forums to see if my old friends are here! And to start my life back on the right track.

Hi Camilla! Welcome! I just got back on after years off and had to use the "forgot my password" link to get back on! Please keep us updated on how you are doing! I originally had WLS in 2006 and went from 305 to 180 lbs. Kept it off for more than 5 years but job stress (and loss), and parents health decline and passing caused me to regain about 70 lbs and stretch my pouch so that I was out of control. I'm having revision surgery soon so hopefully I can get back on track and get healthy again!

Wow, Gina! What an adventure! I'm sorry to hear that you were in a wreck as bad as that, and Thankful that you are OK! Talk to your physician about some anxiety meds. You probably need to speak with a councilor also! You are going through shock and don't want it to advance to PTSD, which can be dibilitating! I can fully understand about that part!

Love you! Take care of yourself!

Popping in for a ride on the train this afternoon. I ride a real train twice a day now, so this isn't the novelty it used to be! LOL!

Anyway! I'm still working on the house. Got the fence put up last weekend and the new back door so the furbaby can go in and out without me. He's a much happier puppy! Still working on the wood floors, I need to get the 1/4 round in around the edges mostly. But I'm bending more nails than are being put in! Guess I'll have to get the Dremmel out with the tiny drill and make some holes! That 1/4 round is hard as cement!

If anyone knits, crochets, uses a loom, or whatever, the Texas Special Olympics is in need of scarves for their 2013 events. Here is a link to the Ravelry Page so you can find out more info and sign up if you want!  http://www.ravelry.com/groups/sotx-winter-scarves

Have a great day folks! Love ya!

Wow, Gina! You look great! Doesn't look like the ole' train is carrying very many passengers these days! I miss seeing everyone! (Although, the visual you gave here really makes me think twice! LOL!!)

Update on me, I'm loving my new job at the Dept of Education! The commute isn't so great, an hour or so each way, but I ride the train (actually ride trains!) and I get to knit and listen to podcasts so it's all good. Plus, company pays for transportation!!

I bought a house! I'm no longer living with my sister. I'm in Riverside now. When I get everything set up, I'm thinking about having a housewarming party or something, just so people can come and go or whatever. I'll let y'all know if and/or when it happens!

Love you!!

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to stop by and make myself accountable! LOL! I really need to get back on a routine! Well, now that I'm back at work, I have sort of, but I need to loose weight again! I'm up about 40 lbs and it's aggrivating me! I know you know what I mean. I'm drinking pritein shakes in the morning, making sure I take my vitamins, getting plenty of protein, but not getting the exercise! Just a lazy butt!

However, sitting around does let me get in some knitting. I can't exercise much during the week because I work four 10-hour days and I'm out of the house by 5:30 to catch the train to Dallas and don't get home till after dark, usually around 7:30 or so, but I'm loving being back at work!! The Department of Education is sooooo different than the USPS! Wow! And with an hour ride, I can knit on the train. I've been making socks and hats lately.

Well, I guess I'd better get back to work. Loving seeing all the smiling faces here! I miss ya! I guess I'd better come back and make sure that I'm doint what I'm supposed to be doing!

Love ya! Have a great day!!

I didn't get a wink last night. Don't know whatz up, but I think it's PTSD. If I don't take sleeping pills, no sleep. And drinking just leaves me with a hangover the next morning, even tho I get a couple of hours of sleep with it. My next appt with the VA is October, so I can't talk to them about the meds until then. I just wish they would approve my claim!

On the positive side, the union said that people are going back to work at the PO that were taken off because of National Reassessment Process (being injured on duty). That they "interpreted" the rulings incorrectly! Yeah, right. I'm still putting in for jobs around the country. I just want to go back to work. I guess the life of Riley isn't for me. Well, it's not really Riley's life, he had money to spend! LOL! And he probably didn't have $340 electric bills! Jeesh! I hate Texas in the summer!

Well, guess I'd better get going. I finally finished the VFW newsletter and I need to get the mailing labels done for the Post to mail them out.  Y'all have a great day! Love ya!

Poi is Hawaiian for Yuck!  LOL!!

Ok, straight from Wikipedia!  Poi is a
Hawaiian word for the primary Polynesian staple food made from the corm of the taro plant (known in Hawaiian as kalo). Poi is produced by mashing the cooked corm (baked or steamed****il it is a highly viscous fluid. Water is added during mashing and again just before eating, to achieve a desired consistency, which can range from liquid to dough-like (poi can be known as two-finger or three-finger, alluding to how many fingers you would have to use to eat it, depending on its consistency).

Well, I went to the funeral yesterday.  Beth was truly a beautiful person, inside and out. I will miss her dearly. I was suprised that there weren't more people there. I guess because it was a Saturday and in Denton, but her brother came from San Diego, you would think some more people could come from Fort Worth.  Any way, I rode with a friend and we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch, which was one of Beth's favorite places to eat.

I'm feelin sad today. But I'll make it. Love to you all! Have a great day!

WOW! It's Friday! I hope everyone has a great day!  Since I'm not working, it's just like any other day to me, but hopefully that will be rectified soon!!

Tomorrow I have to go to a funeral for a very good friend from work who passed away in July. I didn't find out until the other day that she was gone. I hadn't seen her in a while, and I'm really regretting it now. I know I shouldn't, but sometimes I can't help it. PTSD talks to me and makes it seem like I'm a piece of crap.  I keep trying to close the door on it, but it just pushes and barges in! Oh well, that's what therapy is for, right?

Anyway, sorry to be a downer, but HEY!  TGIF !!!!  IT'S FRIDAY!  HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Love all y'all!!

Welcome to the Thursday WLS Express!  All Aboard!!

Ok, I've been looking at the numbers and it seems there are quite a few lurkers out there!  Reading but not posting! C'mon guys, we want to know what you've been up to. If you're a newbie and you're shy, don't be! It's just like writing an email, except you're talking about yourself!  You can do that! I know it's not as easy as it sounds, but you'll find that there is no judgement on this thread. We love everyone and support each other, so lets get going today!!

I put in for 20 jobs last night on USAJobs.gov. Ugh! The Postal Service is hemmoraging and live is not good right now. I'm feeling like a rat leaving a sinking ship! But I have to take care of me! And Congress isn't making it any easier! Don't get me started!! LOL!!

Anyway, I'm trying to make good choices in food, but the further out I get, the harder it is! I think I've stretched my pouch out because I can eat more than I should. I may have to do the 5-day pouch test and prolong it to get back into the groove. I definately need to get started back on my protein drinks! I've been eating waaaaay to many carbs lately!

Make good choices out there today!  Remember, don't lurk, POST!  Nuttin but Love to y'all!! Nuttin but LOVE!! Have a great day!
