Hi Musicteech,
Congrats on getting the WLS process started. A week may not be enough time--my husband and I are both teachers that were sleeved this summer. I had mine done in July, and he had his done the week before school started in August. He still had to take a few days off during that week of inservice before he went back to work. You may want to consider sitting out an extra week to give yourself time to recuperate if you've got the days to take off. I know I could not have gone back to teaching full days a week after my surgery. Also consider that you will not be able to lift anything over 10 pounds for a few weeks post-op, so if you are a band or orchestra director, you will not be able to lift or move a lot of the instruments, etc.
Protein drinks can be hit or miss. Start sampling some now so that you can find a couple you like. Just don't buy a whole bunch of them right before surgery because your tastes will change after surgery.
Good luck!

Good Tuesday Everyone,
We ALL have so very much to be grateful for in our lives. Seems this time of the year is when we actually think about it in reality we should be grateful everyday of our lives for the blessings that come our way. Today I am most grateful for my precious almost 16 month old granddaughter. She is my one and only grandchild and truly the light of my life. She brings SO much joy to my life and I am so excited that since I had WLS 8 yrs. ago I can sit on the floor and roll around with her and play with her like a grandmother should. I know that had I not had my WLS....I wouldn't be a active grandmother at all. Grateful for my family, friends, health and all the blessings that God has allowed me to have in my life. SO very grateful to God for everything in my life. Grateful for Obesity Help and all the precious people on here always ready to give help and advice to others in need. PLEASE share if you will what you are grateful for today.
Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Back to the basics this AM.
Work is on top of the docket.
Enjoy the decent weather today since the weather whiz(s) are predicting a radical change.
Vivian, thank you very much for your response. Unfortunately I already contacted his office asking for a consult, and I've been told that I should get under a certain weight in order for him to perform the surgery. They didn't even offer any help in getting to that weight, so honestly I am little disappointed with his practice.
Glad your back Deedles. This board is pretty dead. But im sure you can get inspired & get back on track. You have been such a inspiration to us all.

Hi yourself! I'm doing pretty good. Doug has had some serious health issues the last couple of years that was a challenge for us both but things are much better now and we're busy living life. Facing death will definitely change your priorities! I've had to let things slip a bit but am determined to get back on track and get this 20lbs off! I came back here for the wonderful inspiration and support.
Hope to see you around!
