If your band has slipped at the very least insurance cover to have it corrected.
Ask your surgeons office to help you fight insurance to cover band to sleeve based on complications.

Hi Sandra and welcome to the Texas Message Board ( TMB ).     I agree with Saundra.    Fight your insurance co.   That is a complication and if that band doesn't come out it will cost them more $$$.    I am sure that they could probably do all your surgeries at one time.   In the mean time you will be in my prayers that all will go well with your situation.    Please keep us updated on your situation.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

I think it has to do with the doctors office not coding it right. Have any of ya'll heard of good things out of Dr.Castor at Methodist hospital?

My original thought was that the drs office didn't do something right on your insurance report/paperwork. A slipped Band could be an emergency if not removed. As far as a second WLS, that truly IS at your insurance's discretion. Sometimes an appeal will help with that. Is it possible to correct the slip and leave the Band in place while you appeal the Sleeve surgery? At least you'd have something in place in case you get completely denied or it isn't a coverage on your benefits.

I see Dr. Smith in FW and think very highly of him.

Good luck!
