Happy! Happy! Happy! Friday WLX!!
We've made it, almost, through another week! Depending on how long my little court hearing this afternoon last I may or may not be able to go with Jan to get the grandkids in Centerville. Get to be "Grandpa Don" this weekend. Planning on taking them to the water park near Tyler.
Have a hydrated, safe and fun weekend! That is all.
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
I am cleaning house and waiting on the new Internet provider to come install today. Taking Ben to a friends to catch a party bus to Kinder for a weekend bachelors party. They should have a blast and hopefully will be safe with a driver and being at the Casino complex all weekend.
Heading to my sisters for dinner and visiting with her family and friends. I haven't seen them for a couple of weeks.
Got my yard mowed when I got home yesterday from work, so that is out of the way. It was hotter than blue blazes.
Have a good day!

KARLA-pls be careful, when out in that heat...though I KNOW you are a smart cookie, and took/will always take the correct precautions...
UNLIKE my oldest spawn...I got home in what was probably the nick of time yesterday...at about 2:30pm..not even sure what the temp was..heard a lawn mower..wondered "what idiot is mowning, in this heat?"...well, it was one of MY idiots, mowing the back yard...I went out there...I tapped him on the back..He was in a daze...glassy eyed..beet red face..NOT sweating...too many signs of heat stroke, etc...Got him in the house...yadda..yadda..yadda...Asked him WHY WHY WHY...answer: "Grass needed mowing"...that's my Corbin..Kinda takes after his mama..can't stand things needing to be done-even when somebody ELSE (like another spawn) was SUPPOSED to do it...The one thing he DID do was wear his "camel bag"--like he wears for walking/races...but he had NOT drank any of the water...DUH...and he was not wearing any kind of hat..double DUH..
Just glad I came when I did..

We Can Do Hard Things
Getting thru the work day and dinner out is all I have on my agenda.
Went to auction last night and came home with a lamp and vase.
No real plans for the weekend, sure I will find something to do.
Have a great day!

Good morning, family! Yep-it's really me-on the right day and everything. I'm off today, for my MIL's funeral. The viewing/visitation was last night...fairly uneventful...a few "bizarre" wardrobe choices...a few trips to several cars, for adult beverages, and whatever else they were doing out there...Today will be the "real show"...The service is at the funeral home, in the chapel, at 2pm, then to adjoining cemetery..where you have to drive..the place is huge..and it's going to be HOT...Richard refused to rent the "family car"...pissed his sister off...$500 saved-it was only to go from the chapel to the grave...Grandma had no church home, so there is no "family lunch provided". OUR church offered, but we declined. There was arguing-in front of the casket, of course, about where the family should go eat, after the funeral today. They asked MY opinion...silly people..all I said was "I don't care-just be sure everyone can afford it, because everyone will have to pay for their own"...SILENCE..meeting adjourned...We're probably having the Mickey D's Dollar Menu..ok by me! Back in the old days, Richard would have picked up the check for everyone, probably, but we just CAN'T do that, anymore, but they have to know that upfront...
Been a busy week--but when are they NOT--huh??? Been feeling pretty good--moving around almost non stop, it seems. Doing well food wise..."planned exercise" still the pits...BUT Corbin joined a newly revised/new ownership gym, and wants me to join-it looks like they have some attractive features, that would suit someone like ME, even..I HAVE started walking again, but not like I need/want to...I am more "limber" than I have EVER been in my life--no doubt from the work I do..childcare is better than yoga, I swear...I did manage to have a nasty fall the other day, though, and today is the "sore day"..can barely move...I didn't even fill out an Incident Report...What was I gonna put "Fell over worm's foot"? The classroom I have now is half carpet/half concrete..of course I fell on the concrete side...Call me GRACE !!! What's a WORM, you ask??

Oops..can't let y'all off without a "Madi pic"! Those of you who have known me a long time--or even a short time, for that matter, know I wanted/NEDED a grandbaby...I had my sons a little later in life (I was almost 32, with Corbin, and was 34, with Chris), so peeps I went to high school with have had Grandbabies for years and years. I handpicked Madi. I really, really liked her single mama, knew there was no "baby daddy" in the picture, and really liked her maternal grandparents. So I invited her mama, and my son, to "check each other out", on my Facebook..yea..I pimped out my kid...whatever it takes...

We Can Do Hard Things
Well, I'm really late getting on the WLX today. Got out early this morning to get oil changed in my car. RA Dr. appt. was at 9:45 got that done. Sister wanted to use my car today, so she brought me to work. Work is slow this afternoon... Everyone, please to continue the prayers for my SIL. They are heading back up to the Cleveland Clinic tomorrow. Dr appt on Monday and surgery on Tuesday, to remove the cancer tumor. Drs say it will be a tricky operation to save the kidney.
