How can I get insurance? Any help is appreciated

I've finally failed for the last time. I'm 45 with a BMI over 50 and really want WLS. Problem is pcip.gov is not accepting new applications for insurance and I've been refused insurance from Humana, Aetna, Blue Cross, etc.

Any help or resources would be really appreciated. I am self employed and make too much for medical assistance (thank you Jesus) and too small to afford health insurance for my company (no employees).

Finding a surgeon is the easy part, I live in Houston and I am sure that's going to be easy. The hard part is finding insurance that will cover. If anybody knows where I can get insurance, I would be forever grateful and so would my family. So far I've been very blessed with excellent health, just mild blood pressure and mild cholesterol.

Thanks

If you don't have access to group insurance, you would most likely have to self pay for surgery.

Does your spouse work? Can you get insurance through her employer? Some retail jobs offer insurance even to part time employees. Otherwise start saving. I would be going to Mexico to Dr. Alvarez if I were self pay. Not a bad drive from Houston.

Wife is a stay at home mom. Paying out of pocket is impossible right now, it's under 20K from the few doctors that I talked to. Even tried financing and my credit is shot.

There's got to be  a way to get insurance.

Get your credit in order and start saving. Make a plan. I don't believe it's impossible for you to pay for this if you really want it. I am a single mom and have paid for 2 international adoptions and plastic surgery on a very meager salary (total cost for all 3 was over $80K).
