Accessing individual profiles

Why can I not access some people's profiles? When I look at my friends list, some names are blue and some are black. I can touch on the blue ones and goes to their profile, but not the ones in black. Does this make sense?

It is how their privacy setting is set.  The blue ones are set to "public" meaning everybody and their dog can see it or to "friends only" meaning you have to be friends to be able to see he profile.  The black ones are set to "private" meaning nobody can see.

Susie, most of us had it where people could view our profiles until a couple of years ago. Some unscrupulous folks were taking people's info off of OH and posting it on Facebook and other sites without permission. Many of us then switched to friends only viewing the profiles so this wouldn't happen. Just request someone to be your OH friend. I know I haven't updated my profile in a few years!

Don & Karla - Thanks for clarifying. I just like to be able to go to the profiles to find out more of their story, plus their surgery type, when they had surgery, how much they've lost and the age at which they had surgery. That makes a difference to me since I'm in the "over 50 group". No matter what anyone says, it's just a lot more difficult to lose weight the older you get.

Again....thanks. Y'all are awesome!!!

I deleted it and was going to try and change it, but can't get it to upload another picture. It keeps saying "can't upload..." I've tried several different picture and am having no success. I'll keep trying surprise

Your photo may be too big.   Go to Shrinkpictures.com.   That is what I use when I am trying to change my avatar.    Also OH has a size limit. 100 x 100 pixels.   Try that and hope it works.    BTW....I had my RNY at 52.   It doesn't matter if you loose the weight fast or not...the main thing is that you are losing.    Hope my advice on the avatar works.   If not let me know and I will try to help you figure out why it won't let you.

Hugs and blessings ~~~~ Vivian

I don't blame you. I read lots of profiles before and right after my surgery.
