I like the Texas Forum. Just had RNY on March 5. Its been slow progress and frustrating at times, however I am looking to the fun times to come.

Welcome to the TMB Chrissy.     Like everyone said...this is NOT a super active board but there is usually someone on here ( although sat. and sun. are pretty slow ) so if you have questions you can ask us and I'm sure someone will answer.   If you want a answer immediately....you might want to post on one of the other boards.    Welcome to our "little family" !!!   Don't get discouraged about the slower WL though.    BTW...what surgery did you have?    Congrats !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

I had RNY. I'm better today. Had a glitch a couple days ago. Passed out. Son called 911. It was more embarrassing than anything. I had very low potassium. Got a script for it and felt better today. Actually fixed my hair put on make up went fir a walk. It's been difficult the last 10 days due to pain medication nor working. I prayed about it and have not needed it for 48 hours. Thank The Lord. I'm really hungry but still on clear fluids till Monday wen I see dr for two week check up. I'm down 19 pounds since march 7. Thanks for the reply.

CHRISSY-you have already DONE what I would have suggested you DO--that would be to put on some on warpaint and get out of the house-even if it is just to walk to the end of the driveway..then the next time you walk to the neighbor's driveway, etc...just TAKE IT SLOWLY...

YOU HAVE HAD VERY MAJOR SURGERY, WITH VERY MAJOR ANESTHESIA..yes, I AM shouthing here..sorry...force of habit..34+ year nurse and 23+ year mama here..lol...

and...TAKE YOUR PAIN MEDS WHEN YOU ARE HURTING..it is NOT NOT NOT a sign of weakness...You have just had your guts re-arranged..it's supposed to hurt..

The "hunger" will come and go...at this point it probably is "head hunger", as your physical body should not be able to feel physical hunger yet..please stay on your doc's protocal..think of your new pouch as a newborn baby..what do we feed newborn babies? Fritos? Ice cream? Of course not.

You sound like you already really have it together, and I predict you are going to be very successful in this LIFETIME journey!!

Well U r right about the hunger. I just know it's a knawing pain. So most times I just drink something instead of eating. I'm a food addict use it to deal with stress emotions etc. so I've been paying close attention to " what am I feeling?" Why do I want to eat. Am I hungry or angry Lonely tired or bored. I've wanted this for 15 years. Researched it a good two years. Picked the brains of everyone I knew that had had the surgery. Got the good and bad of it. My reasons are not for the looks. That's a good side effect. Mine is to be healthy not have diabetes high blood pressure GERDs bad knee etc. The pharmacy bill alone is huge. So far not had to take anything except GERDS med a few times. I don't think I'll ever be skinny. I just want to
Feel better and to increase my chances of being here for my grangirl. Thanks for all the info. I appreciate ur time.
