Awesome Discussion Thread - Let's Say Goodbye
Earlier this morning I was searching the DS forum as well as the Texas one, when I came across a thread that was titled, "Let's Say Goodbye To...". I'm showing y'all my reply, but I'd encourage you to go look at the entire thread for yourself. it was a tear jerker for sure.
Blessings, My Friends.

OMG - Just read everyone's "Goodbye Lists" - I feel like I've found my home!!! I'm about 6 weeks away from surgery and I am SO SO READY to say goodbye to about everything y'all listed.
Goodbye to
- having to roll over on all fours to get up off the ground from playing with my ggrandbabies
- to NOT having any lap room to read books to my Gbabies
- Sweating and out of breath after doing almost anything - walking, putting on makeup, doing hair,
- Not being able to get up from the couch/chair, etc.
- Not be able to ride amusement park rides with my family
- Seat belt extensions on airplanes & no room in normal size seats/booths of any kind
- Looking in the mirror and wondering who that person is
- Avoiding people in general - especially those who've not seen the FAT me - been this way for 17 years now
- My knees, hips, and back killing me
- Feeling SO ASHAMED and EMBARRASSED
I could go ON & ON, but the main thing is....we all understand and I'm so ready to say goodbye to all these things, plus SO MANY more, and to say "hello" to a new improved abundant life. It has been WAY WAY too long since I've felt that freedom.

It is nice having you posting here Susie! Most of us on this board are "old farts" and are in some cases several years out of surgery and your zeal for what you are about to undertake is refreshing! I remember crossing a lot of those same things off my list as well. It was a pleasant trip down memory lane to read yours!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Don,
Or should I say "Old Fart". Just kidding of course. Pretty sure I'm a much older fart than you, age wise, but still a babe on the WLS path. I appreciate you. I love your sense of humor and look forward to crossing off those goodbye to items. Thank you again, for asking along side me and making me smile. You're a good egg :))
