Hello all,

 

I just wanted to peek in and introduce myself.  I have lurked around the OH VSG board but didn't realize there was one specifically for us Texans until this evening.  So I thought I'd drop by and say 'hi.'

I am looking at getting sleeved this summer since I am a teacher and have nearly 3 months off to recover and learn a new way of living. 

I have a sleep study scheduled for next weekend that I am nervous and anxious about, and an initial consult with my surgeon Dr. Nicholson next month during my spring break.  While the thought of surgery scares the bejeebus out of me, staying at this weight scares me even more.  I am doing this as my 40th birthday present to myself and I am pretty sure it will be the best birthday gift ever!

I will probably ask a lot of questions so please bear with me.  :)

Being scared/ anxious is very normal and yep....it will be the best birthday gift that you can give your self and your family too.   Ask away with the questions....I'm sure someone will answer them for you.    FYI...this message board is pretty quiet on the weekends.     Congrats on your decision to have WLS.

Thanks!  You are not too far away from where I live.  My husband actually works in Lewisville. :)

Welcome to the OH TMB. I am retired from education as of this year. I was an educational diagnostician. I don't blame you for waiting until summer. I was able to take off 3 weeks in January and get my work done around it. It will be a great decision for you . It is scary,but well worth it!
