Trying to find a Gynecologist who is familiar with WLS patients
Howdy!
I'm new to the Texas board. I had VSG in June and have been having menstrual issues ever since. My current gyn doesn't have a whole lot of experience with bariatriac patients and I'm considering switching.
I'm looking for recommendations. I'm in College Station but would travel to Houston if I could find a great doc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!

Maybe someone else will chime in. Your issues probably have to do with hormone changes after the massive weight loss. I think you would just need a gynecologist who is good and knowledgeable rather than one familiar with WLS. I could be wrong.
You might just try a different surgeon in BCS.

I'm in the Dallas/Irving area. My OB/GYN I dont' think has a lot of experience with actual WLS patients - as a matter of fact - I think that I was his "first" patient. I'm almost 5 yrs out...
but.......HE IS A WLS PATIENT TOO NOW !! he said that I inspired to move ahead with the decision that he'd been putting off for a while.........He has the sleeve procedure I believe probably about 2 yrs now..........give or take.
His name is: Dr Livingston, MacArthur OB/GYN.. I think that he is awesome.... He did a procedure on me about 1 mo prior to my WLS - http://www.macobgyn.com/
I can't for the life of me remember what the procedure he did on me but it is where you freeze the uterus to alleviate heavy periods or regulate them somewhat -
With the weight loss and hormones every which way but loose - probably took about 2-3 yrs for everything to settle down - but I'm so glad that I did both !! I'm more regular now at my mid 40s than I ever was !! lol
good Luck !!

- Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose. Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email. I'll answer it as soon as possible.
