We Can Do Hard Things

Good morning, TMB family! Hope everyone is dry and safe this morning! What a crazy mess yesterday was..

I'm not even sure how many tornadoes there were, in our area. At one time, around 14:00 I know there were 5 different "purple squares"-meaning active tornadoes-on the weather map-all over DFW-where we have patients and our staff were working/traveling. Our office electricity was going on and off-as were the phones, and the cell phones weren't much better, but we somehow managed to pretty much keep up with everyone.

One of our pts lived in the Arlington nursing home, that took a direct hit, so several of us helped with the full evacuation of that facility. The poor little people were just terrified, but the fire/police/nsg home staff/etc did an AWESOME job of organizing, etc. Our lady got resettled in another Arlington facility, but many had to go as far as Granbury, to find suitable care. That also leaves an entire facility worth of jobs, but the administrator said the employees would be offered jobs where the pts went, as long as it was in "sister" facilities. It was a MIRACLE nobody was seriously hurt. One lil man had a head laceration-cuz he fell AFTER the tornado. The nsg staff did an awesome, awesome job of getting the folks out of harm's way. You always hear the BAD stuff about nsg homes-rarely the GOOD stuff..

Thank you, MEGGIE and PHYLLIS, for calling to check on me-that meant so much! Watching the funnel cloud pull water out of Hurricane Harbor, and dump it on our parking lot-right before I talked to Meggie-was a tad bit unsettling! My brother, from Houston, and my niece, from Austin, also called-nice to know people care!!

This morning will be spend figuring out where all our pts and employees ended up, first off...elecricity still out, in alot of areas..then have weekly "care conference" at noon...I really don't like Wednesdays...sigh...

Hope y'all are safe and sound. Hope everyone will check in today, and let us know!!

Good morning. Glad everyone is ok up in the DFW area. It was stormy here during the night. I slept right thru most of it. Lots to keep me busy at work today. Bridal shower after work at school.

Have a good day to all!

 Good morning

Survived yesterday's storms, hung out in the bathroom a couple of times but all is well. The dog ended up on top of the my desk once but overall the pills worked just need to better time the dosage.

Work and  appt at noon to help MIL who has Alzheimer's take care of some paperwork is my plan for the day.

Have a great day

 Morning Gina and TMB Family,

WOW I didn't know that the tornado was that close to where you work Gina.   I know my oldest son called me and text me last night when I was in Azle at Teen Challenge asking me where I was and if my oldest sister was OK that lives in Cleburne.    He also text me a photo of a tornado in Cleburne ( not sure how he got that one ).    Hope all our OH members in Forney, Lancaster and other surrounding cities that were hit are all OK and safe.     Sorry I didn't think to text you to make sure you were safe myself.    Thank God everyone is OK or so as we know.     Please keep the Teen Challenge students in your prayers as well as their families.   I know I am having a hard time right now  missing my son with Easter coming up.    Easter is a pretty big deal in our family.    We celebrate with my sister right above me in age and her 12 grandchildren,    It won't be the same this year without him but I KNOW he is where he needs to be and God is in control.     Everyone have a great day today and Gina...SO glad that those people in the nursing home were safe and not hurt.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian
