Sunday WLS Express

Good Afternoon everyone!  I've been having such a fun time off spending it with family, it's been awesome!  The time off has me lost to Gina, it's back to work tomorrow which can be a good thing I suppose the money is anyway.  I have 4 days of vacation/personal time off between now and the end of the year that I WILL be using, we can't carry it over and I refuse to lose it :).

Cooking today, I'm cold AS ALWAYS and nothing better than a good ole gumbo to get the chill out of the body and the fireplace roaring to warm up the house.  I hate winter, LOL.  The inside Christmas decorations are you, some presents purchased (on line, I'm not fighting the crowds) and Christmas music is playing, I think I'm getting in the holiday spirit now.


Prayers to all in need, special prayers for Saundra and her family. 

DANA-make me feel like worse a Sscrooge/slacker than I already do, why doncha???? You lil Martha Stweart chick..lol..

My guys were supposed to get the Christmas stuff out of the attic..but they didn't..and obviously I didn't PUSH very hard (or it WOULD have happened). In years past I would never decorate, for Christmas, until after Nov 29th-cuz that's Chris's birthday-and we always had 15-20 lil boys sleeping over/big birthday parties, etc-and besides, for whatever silly reason I did not Christmas decorations in the background of his birthday party pics. He'll be 20 tomorrow-no sleepover planned, that I know of..but still hate to break tradition (that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!!)

I DO wish I was there to enjoy your fire and see YOUR house though. Not cold enough here for a fire yet-but I WILL have one-even I have to crank DOWN the air conditioning to have one!!

I really have no excuse for not posting, except school is kicking my rear. Getting close to graduation and the professors are ramping up the work!
That said - I need to go back to remembering to eat 3 meals a day. I just forget to eat. Unfortunately, my body knows that and refuses to release the pounds!
Headed to Austin tomorrow to mee****torney regarding my husband's SSDI denial. The man can hardly walk even after his surgeries, yet social security seems to feel he is not disabled!

ANNE-it seems to be the standard "rule of thumb" that everyone gets denied SSDI-at least the first go round. 20+ years ago my dad got his on the 2nd try...3 months AFTER he went to Heaven. The good news it's usually retroactive and you get the "lost months" paid for.

Good luck to your husband. Please keep us updated. And KUDOS to you for hanging in with your schooling!!!

 Oh my goodness !!!! Almost like the OLD TMB !!!!  It is SO good to see all the familiar faces that we never see anymore.     It has been a great day so far today.    My 25 yr. old son in Teen Challenge has now got a amazing girlfriend.    She is a wonderful Christian young lady who is 23.    I am pretty upset thoughl....his OLD GF called me last night.    She needs to get a life.   I am about to tell her he has moved on and she needs to do the same.   UGH I am about to head out to church in Azle.    My son's new GF is speaking tonight and next sunday night my son is going to preach.    If anyone wants to hear my youngest son sing.....I put one song he sang at church this AM on my FB page.    He is 21 yrs. old and a music minister at a church and has been for a year.    Prayers going out for Saundra.....her sisters and for God's healing on her Daddy.    Have a blessed job.

Do you have caller ID? If so, don't answer the old g/f calls when she calls. Everytime you do she feels that there is still a place in your son's life and yours for her.

 Yes Anne......I do have caller ID.   I talked to my son about her calling and he wants NOTHING at all to do with her nor us have anything to do with her either ( Like I really wanted to LOL ).   SO I have added her name and number into my cell and into my home phone.     Trust me.....I won't answer again ( Oh....I didn't answer this time...my hubby did ).

VIVIAN- agree with ANNE on this one. In this day and age she probably ASSUMES you already HAVE caller ID, KNOW it's HER calling, and are CHOOSING to take her call..so in her warped mind, she thinks you WANT to have a relationship with her-like A said-"keeping the door open". You can certainly feel sorry for her/keep her on your prayer list/etc but I can't find anything in my Bible that says you HAVE to torment your family by continuing to keep her in your life. In time..probably short time..she will give up and move on to another victim.
