Yes, it is Monday again!!!
Had a GREAT time in Hawaii, we went 5 years ago and being 100 lbs. less sure makes a difference. This time I didn’t feel like a whale while at the beach.
I tried Poi for the first and last time at the Luau.
We took the .8 mile (1.6 mile round trip) hike up Diamond Head which is a 760 feet steep trail that includes 74 steps, then through a tunnel and up another steep 99 steps, which kicked my butt but I made it to the top. That was my Woo Hoo for the trip!
We also did a helicopter tour that had the doors off that took us over the volcano on the Big Island, seen a little lava, the tour was nice but NOT worth the money, we also did a horseback riding tour and had a great time on it, but my butt hurt for a couple of days afterwards.
Now it is back to reality. Work and a trip to the grocery store is on the agenda today.
Have a great day!

Ok, straight from Wikipedia! Poi is a Hawaiian word for the primary Polynesian staple food made from the corm of the taro plant (known in Hawaiian as kalo). Poi is produced by mashing the cooked corm (baked or steamed****il it is a highly viscous fluid. Water is added during mashing and again just before eating, to achieve a desired consistency, which can range from liquid to dough-like (poi can be known as two-finger or three-finger, alluding to how many fingers you would have to use to eat it, depending on its consistency).
