Good afternoon all.  Payday Thursday for me! Yes!  30 hours of overtime on this check.  And bills for the month are almost all paid already.  Nice to be sitting in that position for a change.  Needed some extra  money for our trip to Oklahoma next month.

Fending for myself today.  Mary is at a scrapbooking convention.  She made my breakfast before she left though, so all I have to worry about is lunch and supper.

Be back later.

Just a reminder, you need to TAKE YOUR VITAMINS  AND SUPPLEMENTS and make sure you get your daily allotment of PROTEIN.

If you are new to the board, this link explains what the NIGHT WATCHMAN is (if you are interested).  Otherwise, just read on, you will probably figure it out anyway.

Prayer requests are listed below:

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT: Pray not just for employment, but also that they adjust to the stress the lack of employment brings.

Other prayer requests:

Avis requests prayer for John C. and his family.  John lost his mother on Saturday 5/29.

Anne (Lalocaweta) requests prayer her family.  Her son's grandmother (ex's mother) passed away on 5/31.

Cajungirl (Dana) requests prayer for her family for guidance, peace and understanding during a current family situation.  Also, her sister will be undergoing surgery because her Titanium plate broke.

George - requests prayer for Geraldine.  Seems to be doing a little better.  She is getting ready to go spend a week or two with her family in Mississippi to give her husband a break.

Gina L. - Requests prayer for Baby JJ (her great-nephew).   He is undergoing a 2nd surgery Monday morning (5/17) to remove the other brain tumor. The tumor increased by 33% after 6 rounds of chemo. His full name is Jason Kyle Barberee, Jr.  This is the same baby that lost his 18 year old Mom in January

Jennifer - prayer for the sale of their house in San Antonio.  They are in the process of changing real estate agents, hopefully this will help the house move.

Karen the Papaya Queen asks we pray for her son and his kids.  Parental rights to the children were lost.  He may get custody of the girl, which would open the door to  him getting the boys.  The decision is under appeal.

MariPW also asks for prayer for her pending move back to Texas in May.

Meggie asks for prayer for the Minnerlys, friends of the family who lost Bob to cancer on 6/2.

Michelle S. - Michelle's mother started chemo on 5/21.  She is suffering some normal side effects (tired and no appetite).  Prayers for her as she continues in this battle.  Also continue praying for her family's various other health issues.

Nina - Pray for cousin, that he be guided in the right direction with his marraige.

Phyllis requests prayer for her co-worker Norma B.who may be out of work for 3-4 months.  Also, pray for Phyllis and her daughter, Amanda, as Amanda has decided to move out on her own.

Hey George... Glad to see things are going good on your end.  Oh NO!!!  Don't tell me that Mary is a scrap-booking addict too.  I am not that crafty, but I have a few friends that have an addiction to it.

Not much going on in my world today.  I am leaving work early... 8 more minutes to be exact.  I have a few errands to run this afternoon.

Prayers being said for all that need them.

George....I guess you can remove the prayer requests that I have on the nigh****chman thread.   Jonathan has decided that part time is good enough for him since he is going to college online and has tons of homework everyday.   Also you can remove him from the needing funds for his car repairs....guess who is helping him out.   LOL   Thanks so much for all you do for us all here on the TMB.   You know we appreciate you even though we don't let you know it that often.    Hope Mary has fun at her scrapbooking convention.    Have a good evening and I am happy almost all your bills are paid for next month.....that is a great feeling I am sure.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CAN NOT CHANGE;   COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS THAT I CAN;  AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE !!!!    THIS IS MY DAILY PRAYER.

Evenin' George....
Wellll, the days of quiet are over.  School is out and the girls already started in on each other.  Mostly due to arguing over who gets the "big TV".  Good grief.  Guess I'll have a rotation schedule!  hehehe...

I did make one of the elementary school teachers cry today though.  Nothing bad of course, but, today was her last day of teaching as she is retiring.  She is actually a PE teacher but the last few years they have had her teaching the "Health" class.  Basically trying to teach the kids early that McDonald's is poison - like drugs and alcohol!  Nice.  Oh well.  She teaches what she's told to teach.  She also was the Jr. High tennis teacher so has really gotten to know our girls well.  She just loves Sarah and actually recently went to watch her at the tennis club.  She was so impressed on how well she played for only being 8 yrs. old.  One of her own daughters was heading towards a tennis career but got burned out.  So, I showed up to school with a huge bouquet of carnations (my favorite since they smell so good!!!) and as I was walking up to where all the teachers were right before they dismissed kids, she said, "oh wow, aren't those just beautiful"?  I said, "they sure are".  She then said, "whoever is getting those will be so surprised."  I said, "they absolutely will"....then handed them to her and said, "they are for you".  She just turned into a sobby mess.  She cried giving me a hug and said, "no parent has ever done that".  I said, "well, they sure missed the boat because you are a phenominal teacher"!  She is going to kick back and spend a few months out East in Boston enjoying time with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson.  Good for her!  She deserves it.

Hope Mary has fun at her convention.  Is it all weekend long?  Guess you and the dogs get some "bachelor" time!  Paul gets that himself in the summer when I'm up home with the girls.  He likes the quiet, but not for too long!

Need to get Sarah ready for bed.  She came home at 1 pm and ended up falling asleep sitting upright on the couch for a couple hours!  She needs to catch up on her sleep apparently.  I told Heather to enjoy the sleeping in tomorrow because she has to get up bright and early on Saturday to take her SAT test.  UGH....

TTYL.....

I saw the part of your post about the Big TV and immediately thought rotating schedule.  You were a step ahead of me.

Very nice thing to do for the teacher.

The scrapbook convention is all weekend, but Mary only went today.  Tomorrow I am off work, so she is going to spend time with me.

Heather ready for the SAT?  Wish her luck.

We had Heather go through a prep class for the SAT and the two guys who taught it gave the kids some awesome hints/suggestions to score higher.  It's all a matter of answering versus not answering.  If you don't know, then it's better to leave it because they don't necessarily get dinged as much for a non-answered question, but definitely are dinged for a wrong one.  It's crazy and all about how you play the "game".....

Hey Georgr, yeah for pay day!! Mine is manana!! Will we see you at R&s? Hope Mary has a great  time at her convention. Please add my friend the Minnerlys to the prayer list. We lost Bob to cancer last night. He died peacefully surrounded by family. He was a smart funny compasionate fairminded man with a wonderful sense of humor and was admired by many. He was head of the upper school of FWCDS when I was there and I was good friends with his son who is now our vet!  Lovely family all the way around. Thank you!
