Paul.....someone will always find something wrong with everything that we eat or drink.     Just like you are always hearing about something that you eat or drink causing cancer.    The thing is....we need protein and most of us drink it from time to time if not everyday.    I am sure it is not enough to hurt you or else the food and drug administration would not have approved it to be sold to the public.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

As Vivian has said we have to have our protein one way or another. Yes, there is better ways to get protein but again not everyone can eat some of the high protein foods. Everything in this world can kill us it is just a matter of how much it takes. As for the article I find that it was poorly written as there is no mention of the actual heavy metals found and it states in the end that all heavy metals found in protein powders Consumer Reports looked at were well below the established limits set by the FDA. Also, I tend to stay away from protein is not medical grade. Many of the protein powders formulated for bariatric patients is hospital grade, which has even tighter quality controls. I would just take the article at face value that yes there is trace amounts of heavy metals in some protein powders which is well below limits set by the FDA but there is trace amounts of heavy metals in fish and other foods we eat. Do not let the article scare you because with the testing you can get different results if you do not perform the test within standardize guideline. Remember there has been problems with Consumer Advocate groups using labratories that do not use the same standardize testing methods that the government uses.
