OTC sleep aides
Okay. I am bringing up a subject that I have seen covered more than once. I have a friend that has tried every RX sleep aide in the book with no luck. I know that I have seen others with the same problem that say there are certain OTC meds that work better for them than RX.

Melatonin is one of the best to take OTC for sleep out there it is safe and effective. Plus it is something our bodies naturally produce just that some peoples bodies do produce enough. I still have sleep issues and I have been on just about every major prescription sleep aide and able to defeat them all. I have been on restoril for a while and like it. How much caffiene does your friend drinks and does the friend drink caffienated beverage late in the day. THe friend may wan to cut back on caffienated drinks. I limit my self to no more than 2 caffienated drinks a day but normally keep it to one but I am fixing to cut that back to every other day. As I am trying to add more variety in my fluids and protein.
The bad thing about some of the prescription sleep aids some have some bad side effects Ambein is notorious with bad side effects such as people do many different activities in their sleep. There are a couple that are relatively safe to take long term with no real side effects. I would recommend the friend first try melatonin and reduce caffiene intake. If the friend still has problems with sleeping they should see a doctor because there has to be a reason for the sleep problem such as anxiety or stress which may require more than one prescription to help resolve the issue. Also the friend may need to adjust their evening routine prior to going to bed again talking to a health care professional can give suggestions on to make adjustments to help make sleep better.

Thank you for the advice. My friend definetly has issues for his not sleeping. He drinks a LOT of soda... with caffiene. He also has stress and anxiety, but you can't tell a grown man what to do. LOL. He was on two prescription medications, but they weren't working. I told him that sometimes OTC stuff helps better (or so I have heard on here.) He did try something OTC last night, and says it worked good. Hopefully that will hold him until he decides to start taking better care of himself.

Has she tried Melatonin yet? It works great for me, and is all natural. It just takes about an hour though for it to kick in, and you may experience some DEEP dreams with it.
Kroger sells an independent brand of supps now (they come in a bright orange translucent bottle) .. I bought a two pack of Melatonin for only $4 the other day there in that brand vs. normally $12+ per bottle for their Spring Valley brand. The orange brand was 10x the SV brand in strength, too.

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
